A screw-up in EA's Warhammer Online billing system has resulted in many players being charged upwards of 22 times for a one-month subscription, filling bank accounts with overdraft fees and the Warhammer forums with very angry players.

My account I pay my sub from was billed today for over 500 dollars in 16 dollar increments. the account was overdrawn and with fees and overbilling it was 562.73 total.

Ouch.

Yeah, I heard about that. I'm sure it was quite a headache, from what I read was that the vendor who provides banking transactions for Mythic has had problems with a lot of their subscriptions - not just Mythics. That being said, apparently they've also already fixed the problem and reimbursed the money, banks should promptly reimburse the overdraft fees tonight or the opening of business tomorrow I would imagine.

Yikes! Scary stuff considering they're involved with publishing Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Then again, mistakes happen, even to the best of companies. It's easy to get caught up in the negative energy such a story brings. It would be best if Mythic/EA did something to help restore consumer confidence though.

$1000 bucks would go a long way. :) Oh well, shit happens sometimes. At least there was a swift resolution to the problem, how it happened in the first place not withstanding.

I've been hacked Now here's the interesting part. Earlier in the week I used the form on Mythic's site to request my master account name b/c I couldn't remember it. I got it and logged in to check my sub status to see if I got billed during this shit storm. And now last night every character I had was transferred and given dumb names like errfs, adef, asdf, and sent to other servers. My master account name doesn't work and when I request it I don't get the email. Supposedly on their forums people are saying that their account management page was hacked during their billing issue. Not only that but when you're hacked they don't return your lost items or gold or even your characters b/c they say "we cannot determine the intent of this action" I'm sorry but given all of this, I'll never play a mythic run game again ever. Worst MMO company ever.

You can't contact them on the weekends so bleh. It's not like I've played in a year or more but it's the principle of how shitty run this going down. I don't care if Star Wars is the 2nd coming I'll not play it. :(
