I've gone to the last 3 UT v. Bama games since it falls on my birthday week/weekend. However, this year (since I'm in law school). I am not able to go because of studies, AND because I don't have a ticket this time around, nor do I have the funds to purchase 2 of them. Rest assured though, I'll be watching.
The Ole Miss game last week was a joke and an embarassment. UT always plays us close and its a bitter rivalry that in my eyes, just about tops the Auburn rivalry.
With Prothro I would have been pretty confident. This time around, without him, some folks are going to have to step up. Thankfull UT has been having some issues at the QB spot so that helps...
The spread is very small which is really a slap in the fact against bama. A #5 team v. a #17 with a spread like that is sort of lame. Not to mention UT is 3-2 and shouldn't even be in the TOP 25. What the hell is up with that?
I'm nervous, and I'm scared. IT will either make my whole day Sat. or ruin it. I think we can pull this one out though.

I don't consider it an insult; they match up well against Bama's weaknesses. UT has the best D-line in the SEC and one of the best in the country. Bama's O-line, while better than preseason predictions, is still unseasoned. Most teams have been able to stuff the run until the passing game opens up and legs get a little tired and then Darby has had success (primarily 3rd and 4th Q). On the other side of the ball, our defense against the run game isn't first rate. Arkansas had tremendous success on the run and UT has a veteran running back in Riggs. We have a great secondary so I suspect UT's gameplan will be like the Bama of old -- run, run, run, grind out the clock with a few passes to keep the defense honest.
It may be cliched, but I really think this game will come down to the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. If the defense can shut the run down (or Bama builds a lead) and make Ainge or Clausen pass, I think we'll be able to stop them. On offense, if we can establish the run or (more importantly) give Croyle the protection he needs, we'll be able to move the ball.

God...I wish. I'm doing my JD/MBA at Miss. College in the wonderful pothole of MS. I didn't get in Bama because 1) out of state makes it harder on you 2) my scores were not enough to make up that difference
I went to Bama for undergrad from 2000-2002

"I went to Bama for undergrad from 2000-2002"
Ugh, you were there for some tough years. 2002 wasn't bad although (1) it sucked we were on probation and couldn't compete in SECCG and (2) that fucker Francione bailed on the team.
I graduated in '93 and got to attend almost every game of '92. The Sugar Bowl over Miami was particularly enjoyable as a senior in college.

wtf...this makes me sick.
our offensive line is hurting. this game is hurting me! lol....
3 to 3....would be a lot more if 1) we had prothro and 2) our offensive line actually protected the QB.
sigh

Actually I didn't bet on that game. I bet 200 on WVa to cover the spread against SFla.
