Those who have physical deformities or other challenges due to birth defects or catastrophic accidents are still people... with feelings, thoughts, dreams, and needs.

If you're going to laugh at the clothes they wear... how about we laugh at those silly chairs paraplegics/quadraplegics ride around in? Or, let's laugh at the silly looking oxygen bottle that guy has to carry around everywhere he goes? Or let's just have a belly laugh at the clothes that some of the "cool" people are wearing these days. Baggy pants? Ball cap turned around backwards? Uh... believe it or not, no matter how l33t you think you look, there are people who are snickering behind your back.

Before you try to poke fun at how the disabled/physically challenged dress, take a look at your own wardrobe. Oh yeah, why not do what I did? I spent several YEARS as a Big Brother... mostly to young boys who were the victims of birth defects and other physical deformities. It's a sobering thing to see and makes you pause before making fun of someone else.

In what way was this supposed to be funny? People with Down syndrome have unusual body proportions and need comfortable clothing that is easy to put on and off, as they have coordination issues to consider as well. As someone with greatly reduced use of my upper extremities, I've been paring down on fasteners and clingy clothing for years...

Besides, did you actually look past the first page, or just point at the round-looking folks on the front page and guffaw? The men's work clothing (cargo pants, short and long-sleeved shirts, etc), is actually quite nice looking. I suspect the reason they focus on cooler weather clothing (sweats etc) is because they're based in Minnesota, and outerwear can be particularly frustrating to deal with if you're limited mobility/short limbed.
