Whats the story behind Venom?
I'm not exactly sure if they are going to have the real *Venom* aka Eddie Brook in this one... it also looks like they changed the story line a whole lot in this one. If I remeber right from the comic books.. originaly Spider-Man got the black suit from an alien planet during the story line called the **Secert Wars**, because his normal one was destroyed. It wasnt until a bit later on in the story line where he found out that the suit was evil and trying to take over his body when he tried to destroy / get rid of it in the clock tower, which is where Eddie Brook found it and became known as Venom (reporter that use to work at the same place Peter)
And as for The Sandman.. I dont remeber much about him, but I do know and remeber that he did not kill Uncle Ben.. I'm not trying to shot down this movie or anything, and I kn ow that its hard and they can not keep it exactly like the comic books, I just hope that they didnt change it way too much or FUBAR it :D

The Sandman was a guy that was exposed to radiation on a beach, after escaping from jail. His molecules took on the properties of the sand of the beach, and he has total control of the shapes he can configure his body into.
He can be as hard as a concrete wall, or as soft as powdery sand,
An interesting note, Sandman eventually became a hero, and teamed up with Spidey several times, before going back to a life of crime.
Looks like Osborune is gonna become Venom. I wonder if they will make him as insane as he is in the comics, or not.

Ohh man.. I'll be so PO'ed if Harry becomes Venom, cause in all the books and even the short lived cartoon, he found his dad's old lab where there were the same chemicals that Norman was exposed to and another Green Goblin suit with glider

I saw Harry as the green goblin. As for Sandman, some of the trailer hinted that Spidey would have some kind of change of heart and try to help him later, or maybe I'm just reading too far into it.

I don't think Venom will be in this one. We will just see Spiderman fighting against Sandman, Osbourne and... Himself.

If it follows what Timber said, what I know about Venom (being a symbiote from another planet which weakness is "sound"), and looking at the trailer "bells" scene, I guess Peter will get ride of the symbiote this way, and then resumes kicking ass the "good" way.
But I think most of the film will be about him "enjoying" being all powerful and stuff, before realizing it might destroy what he is. Or something. :)

looks like he will get rid of the venom suit the same way he did in the comics. The whole sandman killed uncle ben is slightly lame, but hell the first 2 rocked. Eddie Brock is going to be in this movie, but as a plot device to be used for the 4th movie, which will most definately have Venom as the bad guy.

Either there was a fault in the editing or they are using it to show how the costume 'changes' Peter. Meaning the suit plants in his mind that the Sandman killed Ben to cause Peter to become emotionally enraged. Which would lend more to the story line about how 'evil' this suit is. Not to mention that Peter was with Ben when he died, he KNOWS who the killer was, he was driving the car away, etc. I highly doubt that a writer is going to go that far outside the box and piss off the fans of the comic, not to mention that it doesn't lend credibility to the first movie. Unless you get into another twist of mistaken identity.

There's a "carjacker" role played by the same actor in Spiderman 1 and 3 in IMDB. Also, Ben is cast in 3 as well. They probably have a plan to flash back and explain everything somehow.

Oh yeah and I forgot. Harry becomes like his father complete with a split personality, but instead of the Green Goblin he becomes the Hobgobblin. Though in the comics he was dressed in Orange.

Wasnt he a guy hired and workign for The Kindpin, but was first known as *Jack o'latain.... if I remeber right he one day broke into Osbcorps (the company own by Harrys dad) and stole one of the gliders, in which he then changed his name to Hobgoblin.
Also to break it down even more.. later n the comic he made a deal with a demon.. in which prety much he sold his soul and became Demongoblin
