Looks like it's...explosive (http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn19977-explosive-death-for-mrsa.html). YEEAAA...okay I'll stop. Interesting stuff though, since it's one of the infections that we've only managed to make stronger in our attempts to cure it.

One of the few things that truly creeps me out is MRSA. I have seen some freaky growths b/c of it. One friend has a crater in his hand b/c he got a MRSA on top of his hand. They had to cut it out b/c nothing would help.

You can't "cure" staph. Staph is absolutely ubiquitous and you're covered in dozens of varieties of it at all time. I'm sort of skeptical about that article, too, the proteins in question are a fairly common feature of at least gram-positive prokaryotes. It's actually really easy to kill even MRSA staph, if say, you want to incinerate the infected area, or completely drown it in alcohol or bleach, but what we use as antibiotics for things like that are the substances that don't kill us too.

MRSA is NASTY...... We have to take all kinds of precautions for it at my work. It wreeks havoc among my..uh.... clientele.
