When I was a kid, way back in 1970 my teacher had each of us write a letter to President Nixon and ask him how we could help him make America a better country. My Father and Mother didn't vote for Nixon, as a matter of fact my Dad despised him, and not once did they turn it into something it wasn't. I remember I wrote in my letter that I also would like a picture of the Battleship NJ and I received one from the Whitehouse. With a letter from Nixon complete with a name stamp signature.

The kids are fine, they won't be warped because their teacher told them President Obama is going to help America get better. They are not denouncing anyone, there is no fear being spoken and they as sure as shit not being told to worship the man. The church video, is basically retarded and we don't know what is being said...I'm not sure why the Raptor head...but hey...religion is odd anyhow. I guess a better comparison would be Jesus Camp the movie if you want to see indoctrination and outside influence on children.

And look at me...with all of the evil influence that my letter to Nixon and my Teacher talking about how Nixon was going to make things better...I only have ever voted for the Republican Senator Arlen Spector. So I think all of the faux outrage should pretty much just end...cut the bullshit.

I see a class of kids singing about the President and the hope he has for America. So pray tell...what facts can you show us where President Obama has done the same things as Mao or Stalin?

Where has he been doing what Hitler did?

Who is he persecuting?

Where is his version of the Gulag or Bergen Belsen?

Where is his quashing of second amendment rights?

How has he taken away the rights of the people under the 1st amendment?

Where and what groups has he had shut down due to their differing political beliefs?

What constitutional protections have been removed since he took office?

best recap of why Osg and people like him are angry

Of course they are screaming 'socialism'. They've been doing that since the 50s at least. They're not talking about economic redistribution of wealth - they never have been. They've been talking about redistribution of privilege this whole time. They called MLK a communist because he wanted blacks to have the same rights as whites, and to them that was a redistribution of the privilege that whites had 'earned'.

The school is the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, NJ. The context appears to be a way of building interest in America and in building interest in getting involved, kind of a "What you can do for your country" type of thing.

I believe it is a public school however the website is a .org and not a .nj.us domain so it could be a private school affiliated with the Burlington school district.

These are some of what the kids say:

"He said red, yellow, black or white all are equal in his sight- Barak Hussein Obama"

"Equal work makes equal pay - Barak Hussein Obama"

"He said we all (unintelligible) to make this country strong again - Barak Hussein Obama"

Then they sing a song (to the tune of glory glory halelujiha) about the positive aspects of America.

I'm betting that the fake outrage (not so much fake as race based) has more to do with the name Hussein being said than anything else. I suspect you'll see this type of coded reaction until someone with a name like "Bob Smith" gets the presidency. Just to break balls we need to next elect a hispanic woman to the Presidency and have her first name NOT be Maria.

Go watch the video here (http://ayonae.com/the-continuation-of-the-southern-strategy-t12598.html) The best part is the guy freaking out blames the teenage girls for his inability to control himself.

What's the big deal? I feel like next we'll hear about people getting up in arms that we are pledging our allegiance to the flag now or something. As a kid I remember writing George Bush Sr. much like how Rover wrote to Nixon (old man) - this isn't really anything new. This man is our President, and like all of the Presidents before him garners and deserves our respect and the respect for his office.

I am probably too young in this regard and mistaken, but I don't remember the polarization being nearly this bad for Clinton or Bush Sr and can't help but feel this is Karl Rove's legacy - that everything will be political from here on out.

Actually, I think things started going down the tubes with the Bush-Dukakis campaign and subsequent win by President Bush, Sr.

The liberal side seemed to think that they should have gotten their turn, after eight years of a Republican in the White House. This was when I first noticed more of the media's "input" in the political arena. When President Clinton denied a second four years (which would have made a sixteen year stretch) to the republicans, they went nuts; the result was appointing a special prosecutor to investigate President Clinton and Hillary for their real estate holdings in the White Water deal, and after nothing could be proven to be illegal there they then tried to prove some wrong-doing in the death (suicide) of Vince Foster, and then when that did not work and they were close to giving up, they accepted a cassette tape illegally obtained of a conversation that could show President Clinton got his pole smoked by an intern. While the tape would have been thrown out in a court of law, and the taper likely charged with criminal behavior, the Republicans and special prosecutor used it to publicly humiliate the President and eventually seek impeachment when he was dishonest in his replies about his infidelity in a public setting.

THIS was when things started getting seriously polarized.

I turned my back on the Republican party because of this, and know at least fifteen people just in my circle that did the same. None of us went to the Democrat side, but have all decided Independent feels best.

Interestingly, the two Republicans that were the driving force behind the investigation and subsequent humiliation of our President and country (Newt Gingrich and Henry Hyde) both ended up leaving office due to their own "problems" which showed they were not the best to be throwing stones in their own glass houses. And it cracks me up each time I see Newt Gingrich act like he is seriously entertaining the thought of running for President. If I ever get the chance, I will ask him if he is elected what will he do to repay to the American taxpayer the $100+ million that was squandered on that sour grapes investigation.

This country has gotten worse in it's polarized positions since then, and the media has been all too happy to play a role with the big charts of Blue vs. Red states, every time an election is in the offing.

L2, while mixing religion and politics is bad, once again, encouraging a song, praising Obama's campaign promises, in a Public School, is as bad, if not worse. I'd be saying the same thing if the song was about G.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, or Richard Nixon.

You don't remember because you were conditioned to think everything bad was G.W. Bush's fault. It's OK, you were too young to think for yourself. Read Bylimet 's post, and learn a little something. Also, having respect of the office of the President is fine, but praising the person individually is the issue I have with the whole thing. It crosses the line of education, and smacks of indoctrination.

Sure it was goofy as hell... and dumb.. but Id chalk that up to overexuberance by a couple of Black ladies with a lack of historical perspective.

That wasn't brainwashing Sixee. But once again, lets try to build giant mountains out of little molehills. God Forbid Republicans have to actually deal with actual issues. Talking about solutions for problems is really, really hard stuff. Finding ways to deal with the tremendous issues that face us requires actual work.

Rover, can you not see the title of the Youtube video L2 posted? It says "Jesus Camp Extract Praise Bush". Hence the Religion and Politics part of my statement that seems to have you so confused. Also, a camp indicates that this is place that parents pay to have their children attend and learn about 'Christianity', as opposed to a Public School where parents have no choice but to have their children attend, and be indoctrinated. Maybe that helps you understand, now?

L2, the part of the song that's so radical, is they are singing praises about a man, that while historically significant as our first bi-racial President, has only been in office less than a year. The only thing they can sing about are his campaign promises. Unless you subscribe to the line of thinking that he should have all ready 'saved the world' in his first nine months in office.

It just seems to me they are trying to equate the man's campaign promises, with the actions of other historically significant Presidents. I mean a song about Lincoln or either Roosevelt, no big deal. Songs about a man that has been in office less than a year? Makes me somewhat uncomfortable.

Sing praises about his actions, not the words coming out of his mouth. I think we all know how much a politician's campaign promises are worth.

So it turns out that the kids singing in the school was part of something much larger. I think that Osg might be onto something here.

The kids were putting on a show for the parents and the show was about all of the Presidents with songs about many different presidents. The parents all clapped and the school received no complaints except for the ones that came in after Michelle Malkin posted the video, the name and address of the school and the personal information of the principal and teachers involved and media outlets ie: Fox News dedicated whole shows and hours of broadcasts dedicated to how awful they thought this was and to how they need to put a stop to it.

The only complaints from parents have been that the video was posted to YouTube which after receiving death threats they feel that their children are in danger from the republican wingnuts.

Congratulations are in order for both Malkin and Fox News for helping these kids and their parents know the same fear that an Afghan school has about the Taliban.

Group marches for ‘white civil rights’ after Limbaugh hyped bus beating as a hate crime against whites.

Hate radio host Rush Limbaugh recently cast a fight between three Belleville, IL schoolchildren — the two attackers were black and the victim was white — as what happens to “white kids” in “Obama’s America.” Even though police said the bus fight was not racially motivated, Limbaugh insisted, “We need segregated buses.” On Saturday, members of white supremacist groups marched in Belleville holding signs echoing Limbaugh’s rhetoric that said, “It was a hate crime“:

While a police sniper watched from the roof of the police station, 22 members of white supremacist groups, shouted obscenities and made obscene hand gestures. One man, who had a crew cut and wore a black uniform, told the crowd of onlookers, “Wake up white America!”

“We were out there to denounce the violence,” said Belleville resident Jason Bonn, who is a corporal with the National Socialist Movement, a group with a name similar to the Nazi Party of Germany during World War II. Bonn’s group is “fighting for white civil rights.”

Several spectators “booed the white supremacist rally and shouted ‘Go home.’ "
