I have no problem with Homosexuals, I believe that they should be able to live just as any other person in the world.

However I have no problem with the execution of criminals which are Pedophiles or rapists.

Fact is there is not a harsh enough punishment for criminals as it is in America, and i understand the idea behind getting your hand cut off for stealing, and would love to see being put to death for raping someone or molesting a child.

I do not believe that Homosexuals should be punished, because no matter what Islam or any other religion says I know that most of them cannot control their feelings towards men rather then women, or the other way around.

I completely support the execution of a rapist or child molester if DNA evidence is available to prove the charge beyond doubt. Finding out after the accused is dead that he was in fact innocent allows for no way to make right the wrong committed.

Now, while the idea of cutting off the hand that steals might sound nice to some, you have essentially almost guaranteed the accused will steal again, or instead will be left to live off the charity of others through begging. One-handed men do not have a lot of options for employment.

Now on to another aspect of Iranian (Islamic) punishment: stoning. Why, when there are the options of hanging or firing squad available, would any civilized country endorse or allow stoning? What sick needs are being met by those casting the stones? Do people get picked at random, or is there a waiting list to toss stones? How can a religion that teaches respect for the corpse of the dead on the one hand, then assert the propriety of such an act of disrespect for the body of the living?

It is not about rehabilitation, It is about punishment. If it deters people from stealing it is a deterrent. In an ideal situation, people would give to those who are poor so that they would not have to steal. Whether it be a job or food.

In Islam it is said that If you have more then enough to survive, then it is required of you to help those that do not. If they steal, they break the law. It may not fix the problem, but it sure does give the law more meaning.

I understand, we do sometimes give ourselves a bit too much power in the decision of who lives or dies, I however believe that laws, especially those that are meant to protect people from being harmed in any way against their will should carry a heavy price. With our legal system, criminals have so many ways of already not paying for their crimes.
