I remember when the plane crashed...way back in my High chool days...people were truly upset...girls crying and guys taking advantage of them and their need to be comforted and held and of course about 75% of the time it worked and you actually got in their pants...then their was the new excuse to cut class that day and smoke weed on "The Hill" (Our high school party spot"..
The good old days...1977!

Not *that* old - I was a freshman in high school myself - and learned to drive (oh so slowly around the park) on one of those makeout cruises wherein my girlfriend and her skeezy boyfriend of the moment made out in the back seat of said Cutlass Salon... ;)
Fifty-six is young though, even for cardiac, wonder if anything else contributed to the death?

Supposedly he had a bad ticker. Well, rock n roll is all about living fast and dying young.

LOL..Dazed and Confused is uncannily accurate right down to the place in the woods near the tower where everyone partied...our area was known as the Hayfields.

Dude...we openly blazed in the smoking area of the school...we were allowed to smoke cigs in school, I was referring to weekend nights. Watch the movie..you will probably like it. Each character has their place in my memory.

I am fifty-six, and was hospitalized ten years ago for the old ticker malfunctioning.
But, it is getting more and more depressing watching people die who have in some way entertained me or contributed something to this life. He was one damn good keyboard player, and my condolences go out to his family and the extended band family. They have endured a lot.

Funny I never did see that movie. my high school days resemble very much "fast times at Ridgemont high" though.
Suck's! Southern rock is almost gone now. Skynard made alot of good music. Bring me back my bullets and that smell bieng two of my favorites.
I'll tip a brew for ya brother!! Green grass and high tides forever!!

If you like southern rock, Black Stone Cherry is pretty good. They are much younger, obviously, but they are pretty good. The lead singer's dad was a member of the Kentucky Headhunters.

I believe you are confusing Southern Rock with Country. "Mullets are country music"...repeat that 500 times.

I was commenting on the timeframe rather than the genre of music.
Still, mullets are the rule of thumb in most trailer parks these days. Just try to play "Sweet Home Alabama" in one, and not get a rebel yell in response....!

Mullets in the 70's? Time frame is way off....way off...
As far as the trailer park goes I'd have to go with what you say as I don't live in one. Question; Do you have a single or double wide?

Does "home improvements" include new hubcaps?
Seriously though, there has been some serious bad luck to hit the Southern Rock folks.
The Allman Brothers were the first to lose members to tragic deaths, than Lowell George from Little Feat, and then the plane going down with LS. And, maybe a little more towards the bluesy side, but Stevie Ray Vaughn as well.
Sucks to lose so many talented people so young.

Soooooo many of my NC kin live in mobile homes and growing up I spent a few years in one myself. They're really not that bad /shrug.
Mullets are still the rage down south. Sixee knows this he lives in deep southern jawja.
I hate mullets and have never understood why the butchy lesbians feel the need to sport them. Leah jokes she carries scissors in her purse to offer free hair cuts to any she sees when we're out in that type of crowd. Which isn't often b/c mullet lesbians scare us both. :p
