Hopefully mostly hot air, but one is never sure with the hermit kingdom.

One has to wonder what they consider "provocation".

Not a comfortable feeling if you live in South Korea or Japan these days.

I think Kim is simply so worried about turning the country over to any of his progeny that he is looking to go out in a blaze of glory, or ignominy.

This talk is surely fueling Japan's government in it's discussions to change their Constitution and allow for preemptive attacks against those that pose a danger to Japan.

South Korea and the U.S. are now also committed to preparing for an armed conflict with the North. This could be serendipitous in that it may allow for some new directions in U.S./China relations, with the obvious requirement of having some form of arrangement with China before any action can be taken regarding North Korea. It is not beyond belief that China may be as tired of NK's behavior as the rest of the world, and if the U.S. can convince China that we would have no further design than to remove the potential threat of a nuclear NK it is possible that some agreement could be reached, although it will most likely be costly in terms of 'face' with the region.

I was planning to retire in five more years. Kim better not screw that up.
