Ok, aside from their "British Issues", I have to ask what is fucking sick about that? The age difference is a little more than I think is normal, but otherwise anyone that sees a problem there is very closeminded.

Few weeks back I saw an interesting story in local paper about a 40ish woman who married a 14yr old boy, to thier credit they seemed like a very happy and productive couple..
Well I think its borderline pediaphilia, least they were(both couples) Fairly open about it.
Loves a strange thing, I dont doubt many stories I hear about it.

Do they not have dentists in Alaska? Jesus Christ. Lets get a second opinion on this. El, you still have a few teeth right? Are there dentists in Alaska?

When she was 15 I would have been all for putting him away. If the same situation was happening now I'd be all for putting him away.
If the couple really love each other, they know they either have to wait, or hes going to prison...if they're willing to deal with that then more power to 'em. As of right now it seems like theyre a happy family, which is a great thing imo.
There is no way to tell real love from perverts at that stage of a kid's life..to protect the thousands a few (potentially undeserving) have to go to prison. I'm fine with that.
OR he could have just not knocked up a 15yr old DUH. but still, im glad they're happy.

It's hard to judge a thing like this until 10 years have gone by.
There are dentists in Anchorage, but Wasilla is about a half hour to the north in Deliverance country.

He got what he deserved, 10 years ago. What was he doing, sleeping with a kid *and* getting her pregnant!!! Didn't he care about the health risks involved for her? Didn't he think that he was making her a social pariah? He could have pursued her without sleeping with her and therefore, avoiding performing a crime.
Now?? Hey, more power to them. They are 'of age' and can do what they want.
When you think of someone 15 dating someone 35, it is ... well, ewww. 20 to 40 is well.. different but ok. 30-50? who the 'ell cares.
I think it is all part of growing up. Wrong or right, it's our society.

Fact is, you weren't there. You didn't experience the same things that they did during their 10+ years together. Granted it is taboo in our society to even think about touching someone else if they are under 18. Not something that I would do personally, but on the other hand I can't go and point my finger and condemn them for what they did because I can't grasp that kind of "love" I suppose.

I agree 100% with Cara.
Being 35 and sleeing with a 15 years old isn't quite ok, getting her pregnant is absolutely unacceptable.
However.. they are together since 10 years now and seem to be happy. As Cara said, more power to them. They have shown the world that this is meant serious and that they know what they do. They always did.
If he didn't make her pregnant, I would say: "Hey ok, its a very strange and rare case, but such things happen". But he should for gods sake at least have used a condom and whatever. And well.. 15 is a tad young. if she would have been 17.. then ok...
Anyways. As things look now, they did the right thing for themselves. Congratulations to them. I wish them a long and happy life!

Technically, humans were kinda designed to start having babies around 15-16. Less risks really. Still, eww, 15 and 35?

Technically a body is ready to reproduce once a person hits puberty. Doesn't mean they are 'ready to have a baby'.

Post again when you have a 15 year old daughter and some 35 year old man shows up saying he has been fucking your daughter, got her pregnant and now wants to marry her.

First off, if this guy had come to her father saying he had been "fucking his daughter", then yes he deserved what he got. However Im assuming they both used more tact than that.
Secondly, what makes it anyone elses business anyways? In our supreme efforts to protect everyone, we step on the rights of some people, and that includes girls that feel they are old enough to be involved in a consentual relationship. Theres nothing magic about being 18 that suddenly makes you able to care for a child, so why would 18 and 35 or 20 and 35 be any better than 15 and 35? At least when he got her pregnant he tried to do the right thing (and eventually did ), which is a lot more than I can say about the fathers of some of these children running around the US.
And unless youve never in your entire life broken any law of any sort, including jaywalking or some other inane rule, then dont pull out the "But its illegal!" card. Argue this on the level of morality, not illegality. There are many places in the world where this is not only legal, but prefectly normal.
Didnt Jerry Lee Lewis marry his 13 year old cousin? Dont think he went to jail for that did he... oh but they were probably married for 5 years before he nailed her. My bad.

I didn't see it anywhere in the article, but I hope Cole is adopted. If not, Daddy needs to be asking Mommy what the hell she's been up to...

here it is:
The dead buddy was an only child with no children of his own and his mother wanted to keep the blood line alive, George said. The first plan was for Lisa to be a surrogate mother, artificially inseminated, then give the baby to the grandmother. "But Lisa said, 'If I do this, he's mine,'" according to George. And that's how they got Cole, a gift to both families, they said.

Not entirely true, and it happens alot, color genes can manifest themselves many generations down the line.
If theres a mixed race child, it most often will be a mix of the two skin qualities of the parents.
However thats not always the case, a white and black couple could have a child whos completely white for example, and that child's great great grandson..could have a completely black child with a white partner..
Anyways, regardless, that wasnt the case here anyways, but its a shame to see the chaos that ensues when this actually happens, alot of ignortant people refuse to believe its thier child even after DNA evidence ;>

Once upon a time, I thought that age limits as such was a bad idea since everyone's a individual.
Today, I consider them a necessary evil.
Of course cases like this one exists, and thats why I still think the limit is evil.
However, cases like this is quite rare, while there's a huge number of older people into taking advantage of young and immature people. And it's entierly impossible to prove when this more subtle line have been crossed. That's why the law is neccesary.
Children should not be fair game.
