Following my interview with the primary source, I sought out the second administration official and the CIA spokesman for confirmation. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in "Who's Who in America."
How yawn-arific.

My god, Robert Novak discovered that Joe Wilson has a wife?! I'm sure the neighbors were shocked by this sudden discovery.
Ah, wait, did that Who's Who mention that she was a CIA NOC? No?
Keep yawning, your brain needs the extra oxygen.

I thought the issue was about the disclosure of a CIA agent, not about the name of Joe Wilsons wife.
I wonder what number of our foriegn intelligence contacts were compromised knowing that Joe Wilsons wife was named Valerie Plame? Probably none, I would guess more were when it was printed that Joe Wilsons wife named Valerie Plame was a CIA operative.

Oh spin your hipocrisies.
Ah, wait, did that Who's Who mention that she was a CIA NOC? No?
Was she?

A federal investigation was triggered when I reported that former Ambassador Joseph Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, was employed by the CIA and helped initiate his 2002 mission to Niger. That Fitzgerald did not indict any of these sources may indicate his conclusion that none of them violated the Intelligence Identities Protection Act.
So it looks like nobody did anything wrong.
So will the screams about a Covert CIA Agent's identity being revealed die down now?

Was she?

Rove saying "Yeah, your primary source is right, Plame is CIA" isn't against the law?

Even though it is sarcasm.. this is really comparing apples to oranges. Now if you compared Rove to lets say the torture camp whistleblower then yes.. The whole NYT arguement is that fact that they publish stuff that is given to them by informants...

Furthermore (http://foi.missouri.edu/voicesdissent/columnistnames.html):
Novak, in an interview, said his sources had come to him with the information. "I didn't dig it out, it was given to me," he said. "They thought it was significant, they gave me the name and I used it."
The above is from a week after his original column.
Following my interview with the primary source [which revealed Joe Wilson's CIA wife], I sought out the second administration official and the CIA spokesman for confirmation. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in "Who's Who in America."
Thus, Novak learned that Joe Wilson's wife worked for the CIA from a primary source then dug around looking for a name and got it from Joe Wilson's entry in Who's Who.

Obviously it was not.

Or, Rove has cut some sort of deal. His lawyer, Luskin, has used very precise language suggesting that, while Rove isn't being indicted (presently), he is still involved in the proceedings. Hell of an attorney.

Nah, I think you just got a good Special Prosecutor. He isnt some Ken Starr fishing expedition guy. He is strictly following his mandate and looking for very precise things.
Did Rove break the law? No, I dont think so.
However, he was VERY FAR from acting ethically. But I guess the best this administration can hope for nowerdays is "Not Indicted", he'll prolly get the Medal of Freedom.

I agree that the SP is excellent, both Fitzgerald and Luskin are top players in their particular game.
