Multiple Democratic sources confirm to CNN that Sen. Barack Obama has selected Sen. Joseph Biden as his vice presidential nominee. A text message with the announcement will be sent to Obama's supporters sometime Saturday morning. Both men are expected to appear at a rally later that day in Springfield, Illinois.

McCain's response...
"Nobody has been as harsh a critic about Obama's inexperience as Senator Biden."

A Bayh pick for VP would have secured my vote.
Biden isn't dynamic enough to me to warrant that auto in.

I like it. Biden and Dodd both were my earliest favorites.

Heh.. thats an odd statement Fanny.
Bayh has a rep for being a bit boring while Biden has a rep for being a little TOO dynamic.

Biden has always looked to me to be the best qualified of the Veep shopping list. He provides the best counter-balance for the new kid on the block.

I think he was talking more about that he finds Bayh to be more dynamic in the physically attractive way than Biden is....hey, who knew...

Well, unless he picks Tom Delay or Bob Dole, get used to a president McCain.

I think McCain was more prepared for the Biden announcement than Obama was.

I'm a Hoosier L2, was around when Bayh was coming up in Indiana.
Even as a young republican I found Bayh to be reliable and quite contrary to the other Democrats who were running the country into the ground.
Biden is same ole same ole insider, not at all what Obama was trying to portray himself as.
This was a boner by the Obama camp.

Bayh was my choice too, but that's probably just us Indiana people.

I really like the pick because it stays in the theme Ive been viewing this campaign for a while.
Hmmm.. Where else have we seen the Chicago reformer wanting to change the way things are done bring in the old Irish hand to add some kickass?
Oh yea.

I think any smart person would prepare for a worst case scenario. Maybe even a Republican.
Biden: You said you wanted to get McCain. Do you really wanna get him? You see what I'm saying is, what are you prepared to do?
Obama: Anything within the law.
Biden: And *then* what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these worms you must be prepared to go all the way. Because they're not gonna give up the fight, until one of you is dead.
Obama: I want to get McCain! I don't know how to do it.
Biden: You wanna know how to get McCain? They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. *That's* the *Chicago* way! And that's how you get McCain. Now do you want to do that? Are you ready to do that? I'm offering you a deal. Do you want this deal?
Obama: I have sworn to beat this man with all legal powers at my disposal and I will do so.
Biden: Well, the Lord hates a coward.
[jabs Obama with his hand, and Obama shakes it]
Biden: Do you know what a blood oath is, Mr. Obama?
Obama: Yes.
Biden: Good, 'cause you just took one.

McCain's response was weak as hell. Especially considering the current popular choices out there for his VP.
Front page:
OBAMA CHOOSES EXPERIENCE
Bottom of page 17:
McCain says Biden is Obama's harshest critic, creates knee-jerk ad no one cares about.
