Opins? I see this as bad idea. note the part of moving the markets to towards self regulation.
I also got chills on the statement of how much of these regulations are "depression era laws". check me if i'm wrong here. (and I'm sure you will) but was'nt most of the depression era regulations enacted as a buffer to prevent the greed based activities of financial institutions that were the root cause of the depression?
Reapealing Glasse-Steagle(however its spelled) was just the shot across the Bow.
This strikes me as Shock and Awe!

At least we will have soup kitchens and healthcare after the walls come toumbling down. We can either build infrastructure alla LBJ.
Or fight another war.
I tought the chicago mercantile exchange was going to buy wallstreet. I bet that deal is on ice now. Guess if this passes we will see a slew of ceos taking retirement,.

I cannot find words to describe what bad ideas those are. Expanding the power of the FED is the last thing in the world we should be doing.

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-New York, said that Democrats "agree with large parts" of Paulson's plan but think the proposals should go further.
I'd hardly consider this guy a "neo-con". If you're going to fight a battle, at least get the opposing team right (and I'm not saying it would be the Dems in this case.)

Ok, your right on that Akipt. if your sole goal is to point out that sometimes people with a (D) behind thier names can be a an utter Moron. then let me know i have quite a large list of home town Dem's i'll point you to.
Either that or i'll just give you Joe Liebermans URL.
If thats the best Opine you can offer on this issue, one thats pretty grave and has significant repurcussions on our nation as a whole.
McCain's website is that way's ------------->

I don't think this mess is a Neocon thing or a Democrat thing.
The most counterproductive thing we can do is point fingers and draw lines that aren't really there. If we bicker amongst ourselves, instead of targeting the problem, we've already lost.
This kind of crap should have us all writing our elected representatives, regardless of party affiliation.

When are you all going to realize that we are controlled by Banks, they are our real leaders, not those people we elect.

AGREE! If writing them would matter......but I will just in case! :)
I have to agree Rover...not sure that politician can do anything. They maybe just puppets. However I do believe they can change laws that can make life not so pleasant for the banks. You think any of them have the guts to do that? nahhh
