If Ohio goes to Bush, I'd say it is indeed over, but I'm not certain we don't have another Florida 2000 on our hands in Ohio.

I'll say congratulations to Bush. Hopefully he'll at least listen to some of the critiques of the last few months or this country is only going to become more divided.

You are hereby demissed from duty Mr. Kerry.

Good night all.

And if I wake up tomorrow morning to another Florida 2000 fiasco, I'm gonna be pissed.

With the counties that still have to call in, it's a safe bet that Kerry isn't going to pull the 100k votes he'd need to determine a recount.

DiscW

No, but the 250k or so votes that have yet to be counted (including absentee and provisional) could.

I GUESS A PUBLIC THAT HAS MANAGED TO KEEP JERRY SPRINGER ON THE AIR ALL THESE YEARS WOULD BE SUBJECT TO VOTING AN IMMORAL,UNSCRUPULOUS,DECEITFUL PACK OF WOLVES BACK INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.I WORK IN THE PUBLIC SO I SEE FIRST HAND THE INCREDIBLE NUMBER OF MORONS THAT MAKE UP THE AMERICAN POPULATION. OSAMA YOU WIN AGAIN.

Imagine a Osama sitting on a battlefield, most of his commanders around him fallen(like, Afghanistan/Iraq, for example!)... and he hears news of Bush winning re-election. Someone tells him, "you win AGAIN Osama!!".

Here's where I realize this guy must be living in a Bugs Bunny cartoon and Osama, instead of being happy(cuz he just won!), holds out a sign that says "mother", and a 10 Ton Acme anvil falls him, labeled "4 More Years of Punishment".

CNN has now officially called ohio as "Green". Too close too call.

I'll take CNN's word over Fox news'

*edit* Meh, nm, wrong subject for that.

Sure, that's why Osama denounced Bush as much as he possibly could in his recent video to scare Americans into voting for Bush

I just wish we would be fucked with a actual army man at the helm.
Bush was honorably discharged when he left the military... was Kerry? We'll never know, because he refuses to release his military records to the public. He could release his records at ANYTIME to show Americans precisely how he served, but he refuses to do it. Wonder what he's hiding!

And lastly, anyone who trusts the Clinton News Network for their election day coverage doesn't have a valid voice to participate in this discussion with!

You're saying it's somehow worse then fox news? Lol.

Either way you can look at the numbers and see that anyone calling the state at this moment is premature.

I'm suprised actually,
I voted for bush, but seriously thought that Kerry would win. I was the only one at work who thought that in the late days of the election.

Kerry should concede in the morning, it would be bad pool to fight the election when he lost the popular vote by so much. In fact he's the first president since 1998 to win more then 50% of the popular vote.

If nothing else, I hope this stays out of the courts

I heard (on NPR) that there are only about 140,000 provisional ballots left to be counted in Ohio. It would be odd if all of those (which is pretty much what Kerry would need) favored Kerry.

In other news, it looks as if the Republican majority in the House and Senate has been fortified/improved. This election appears (to me, at least) to be smoother than in 2000.

/sighs

Whatever happened to losing gracefully?

I hope we don't have a repeat of 2000 on our hands. If so, I too will be pissed. I dread turning on the T.V. only to find every channel (except my kids cartoon channels) talking about recounts and such.

Bush won Ohio by about 137,000 votes. It is not even close. I am still unclear why Kerry is not willing to concede. Almost every single provisional ballot counted would have to be a Kerry vote for Kerry to come close, thats even if the provisional ballots are counted since they were from people who weren't on the registration rolls.

As far as im concerned Bush has pulled off a victory.

Going to be a long counting process in Ohio. Roughly 175,000 provisional ballots and 100,000 absentee ballots still to go, and if the difference between the candidates is under 100k, there will be a recount. Joy.

This won't be over for days. There are roughly 175,000 provisional ballots and 100,000 absentee ballots still to count, and if the difference between the candidates is under 100,000 votes, there will be a recount. Joy.

CNN is still refusing to call Ohio, that is bad for them. MSNBC called it shortly after Fox did. However, James Carville (notorious democrat) from Crossfire said about that same time that you have to view the results "straight up" and "it's not a good day for democrats". CNN is just working up the liberals throughout the country, thats not good for any side.I am super tired today, made it until 2am CST before I fell asleep on the couch. Was just waiting for that final state to push Bush over 269.
