Oklahoma State trooper pulls over Ambulence and tries to arrest EMT's for failure to yield when they are taking a patient to the emergency room.

Total retardation and bad judgment by these cops...

WTF, why were they even pulled over? Why would an officer ever pull over an ambulance with a patient on board? How fucked up is that?

It really does make you wonder about the officer's state of mind. I hope the patient's condition wasn't complicated by the stop.

That cop or cops are up shits creek for sure. That is on a barney fithe moronic level of sheer stupidy. They better hope and pray no patient was harmed by it.

The cop was pissed he didn't "respect his authouritah!"

As a firefighter/emt I have to say this is quite rare. around here we have a good relationship with PD since we usually work the same emergencies with them

As Rybit's research points out, the cop has committed a crime with this action. Even in Okie-land, I don't think this will be swept under the rug. If only the patient was, or is related to, a lawyer.......the trooper and state will never hear the end of it. :devil

It's really too bad that the Oklahoma law that would have identified assaulting a medical worker as a felony was signed today, and unfortunate that it was not signed into law when Officer Numbnuts assaulted the EMT. The officer could have been charged with a felony--and a felony could not be ignorable like so many other offenses committed by law enforcement.

At the very minimum, a District Attorney would have to at least consider or ponder about bringing charges against the officer.

Also it would seem there is more to this story. http://www.news9.com/Global/story.asp?S=10434913

....OHP dash cameras recorded the first confrontation between the men. Prosecutors now have that tape, which they say shows Maurice White assaulting Trooper Martin.

Now the Okfuskee County District Attorney's office said they are reviewing the dash-cam video and all the other evidence surrounding this case, but right now no decision has been made as to whether charges will be filed against anyone involved in the confrontation.

Creek Nation EMS Officials wouldn't comment on the possibility of criminal charges, but they did say both paramedics remain on duty.

You'll notice the cop grab the wrist of the EMT and attempt to twist him around in what looked like the beginning of a handcuffing attempt. The EMT basically pushed the cop away and apparently rightfully so.

pulls within visual/audible range at :26. at :30 EMT unit swerves to avoid a car on the side of the road. failure to yield ROW?

Emt should of had his passive lights running!! pretty minor mistake but a mistake none the less. IMHO a mute point when the tech emerged and clearly stated "Ihave a patient inside"!

So since this video is leaked, presumably by the police department, what punishment accompanied that?
