Iran's foreign minister on Tuesday welcomed the U.S. decision to "correct" its claim that Tehran has an active nuclear weapons program, while Israel's defense minister said Israeli intelligence believes Iran is still trying to develop an atomic weapon.
Good thing someone took a closer look, and got it right. Looks like we really don't have anything to worry about until 2012.

WASHINGTON, Nov 8 (IPS) - A National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran has been held up for more than a year in an effort to force the intelligence community to remove dissenting judgments on the Iranian nuclear programme, and thus make the document more supportive of U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's militarily aggressive policy toward Iran, according to accounts of the process provided by participants to two former Central Intelligence Agency officers.
Ah, Dick, how suprising of you.

Bush don't care, Iran is still a threat and all options dealing with them are STILL on the TABLE. Cause they are "Terrorrrrrists and part of the axis of Evil".

And folks still think I am nuts for calling this administration the most disgusting, deceptive, anti-American pair of crooks in our history. They will continue to say that they were doing all of this to preserve the American way of life, when in reality they have been steadily eroding that very way of life since before 9/11 (see the Cheney-energy CEO secret meetings).
I cannot help but think that Cheney has other reasons for wanting so badly to have a military involvement with Iran, that he would attempt to use his position and power to coerce a false statement from the intelligence community. We really need to get a special prosecutor to open up the Cheney-Halliburton/Iran business dealings, and see just exactly what work was being performed in Iran. Is Cheney running scared that his and Halliburton's involvement in the development of that nuclear program might be disclosed to Western sources? Why else is he wanting to bomb it so badly?
Yeah, I admit, I just can't stand the phony, chest-thumping, pseudo-patriotic piece of crap. Thanks, Dick, for giving me another chance to emphasize how deeply I am disgusted by you.

I watched Bush's press conference today. He was so obviously lying and it reinforced in my mind that he is truly the village idiot.
