...Anyone seen Shrek 2 yet?

I managed to catch it last night with a friend and thought it was awesome. The animation is the highest quality I've EVER seen, and just seems to get better and better with each passing year. I swear some scenes, particularly with weather effects, astounded me that they were computer rendered.

Although not as good as the original, it comes damn near close. I'd give it at least an 8.5-9/10. :)

Go see it!

And by the way, does anyone else get the feeling that without Dreamworks/Pixar, Disney long ago would have been dead and gone? Dreamworks seems like the only Disney branch that is anywhere even remotely capable of producing a quality film (animated film, no less) anymore, with the *possible* exception of Miramax.

***SPOILER BELOW***

I thought the scene where the Gingerbread Man walks into the door in the beginning of the movie and yells out "Dough!" was absolutely hilarious...and his later return, after some consultation with the Muffin Man on Drury Lane was an excellent reference to Godzilla/StayPuft...hehehe.

They aren't.

It's privately owned by Spielberg, Katzenberg, and Geffen; hence the SKG part of the name.

Must explain their success.

Anyway, it's an awesome move; I highly recommend checking it out.

I thought Brother Bear managed to bring Disney good money, at least in DVD sales.
