Krokus ~ Midnight Maniac, They had a couple other semi hits on that album that year and just went out like a light bulb. Or Come on Eileene by Dexy's Midnight Runners.
I love 80s trivia, such a microwave generation today compared to the coke generation x age.

1. Billy Ray Cyrus - Achey Breaky Heart
2. Soul Asylum - Runaway Train
3. Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet (Superman's Song got some play)
And whoever that was with the drinking song "I get knocked down, but I get up again, noone's ever gonna keep me down...."
But what cracks me up is the "Greatest Hits" albums by bands that had maybe three, possibly four songs ever make radio. (I really like No Doubt, but "Spiderwebs", "Don't Speak" and "Hey Baby" are the only songs that ever come to mind when I think of them, and they do a Greatest Hits CD???)
Edit: Just recalled one of my favorite 1-hit wonders, that most here probably never heard of, since it was back in the 60's. The bands name was Smith, and the song was "Baby, It's You". The female vocalist fronting the band was beautiful (at least to this adolescent) and could sing with the best of them. They did that song, played on all the TV shows and had tons of radio-play, and then disappeared.

I actually own No Rain and Soup. Corny but true, my ex-girlfriend used to constantly refer to herself as the sad bumblebee until she met me and my friends who were into video games instead of just politics at college :) They would probably have made it a lot longer if they didn't have to deal with Shannon Hoon's death.

Yep, I feel a bit silly now, considering I have their CD's. That was and is a great song.

No one hit wonder talk can be complete with out these guys, video is 100% 1980's with a) electric drum set b) cheesy synth c) girl with big hair d) the spiked mullet.
Can't find a video for them, but the old Two Nice Girls tune popped in my head the other day, "I spent my last $10.00 on birth control and beer"
Safety Dance... nothing else needs to be said.

I saw Gravity Kills live with Sister Machine Gun back in 96 or 97. Their first CD was great (the one with Guilty on it) but it was only about 35 minutes long. When they got to the end of their set, they half joked about playing it over again since their set was so short.
