Every once in a while a file called Ouee.exe pops up and loads in. Can anyone tell me what this is? Because I have no clue.

Go to Start ~> Run, type in "msconfig" and check the last tab, make sure it isn't in there, and clear out any other crap from there. That is, if Gok didn't tell you already to do that. If it's in there and you don't know what it is, note the location and go there and delete it. Then scream "LETS SEE HOW WELL YOU HAXXOR MY MEGAHERTZ FROM THE ETERNAL NOTHINGNESS THAT IS DELETION!" then you can cackle maniacly a few times just for good effect.

And make sure you kick the pesky little bastard from the Recycle Bin too.

Ouee.exe stands for Override undenounced eternal eating I think it was. It is some virus that runs invisibly on your comp that eats away at memory and deletes shit slowly from your comp. You have an antivirus program?

Free virus scanner / remove... runs from the internet. Seems to work pretty well. I'm not sure how up-to-date they keep it though.

Virus Scanner != Virus Protection.

They are totally different things. A wise person once said that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This is especially true in the IT field, and anything dealing with computers.

If you want a free version of mcafee, drop me an AIM and I can IM you the latest version of McAfee I downloaded from their latest antitrust lawsuit. You just have to promise that you 'owned' version 3 or 4 at one time.
