Osg, I'm still waiting for my rational explanations. I spent some time last night reading a conservative religious forum and found the same blind hatred towards supposed socialism. People posted that they were keeping an open mind about the election, not hating, while at the same time using the words "Obamassiah" and B. HUSSIEN Obama. Plenty of ignorance, very little substance.

Afterwards I shoved a toothbrush in my ear to try and clean the memories out of my brain.

The most amusing thing is that most of the people crying "socialism" look and sound as they never stayed awake long enough in a civics class to learn what it actually is.

It has been my experience of growing up in a heavy Southern Baptist home and graduating from a Baptist college that conservative christians are definitely not immune to bigotry and in fact sometimes spew it at the same beat that they thump their bible. I introduced my mom once to a black guy I went out with a few times and she told me she'd rather see me date other girls than a black man. I merely obliged her! ;)

In my experience, Southern Baptists are probably some of the most proudly racist people you'll ever meet. I'd definitely agree with that.
