Maybe she thinks God will whisper the solution in her ear if they just donate all the research money to churches?

That's funny, pity she's too dumb to even understand the irony.

Palin and the right wing need to always have a point of negativity and, as in this case and many others, it comes back to bite them. They can't ever advocate anything good without attacking something either real or in 99% of cases, and this one, perceived.
This is not just a Palin thing it is the mindset of a whole political party.
Think about it, their very first attacks on Obama, over a year ago, were that he was offering hope...hahah...good move assholes....attack positive hope.
A better example is here in McCains own words:
"You know, the other night in the debate with Senator Obama, I said his eloquence is admirable, but pay attention to his words. We talk about offshore drilling and he said he would quote, consider, offshore drilling. We talked about nuclear power, well it has to be safe, environment, blah, blah, blah."
The moron goes after nuclear safeguards. So attack your opponent for wanting to insure there are safeguards for nuclear power, not like there was ever a Three Mile Island or even worse a Chernobyl.

Hope isn't pro-American, because you can't monetize or weaponize it. We've got a DoD grant working on that though, right down the hall from the gay bomb.
And regarding Palin, that woman is so profoundly ignorant that there is no phrase simple enough to contain it that she would understand. IQ scores fabricated or otherwise, she is the triumph of anti-intellectualism and and the nemesis of the Enlightenment. Fear, rightly, for the the anti-christ of Western civilization has taken form.
