Is that score bordering on retarded?

No, but it's just over a standard deviation below average. I think it's often termed "Dull".

Certainly not "a heartbeat away".

But, gosh darn, she has such a way with words, also...

Sorry, but one test in high school is probably not a good thing to rely on for IQ. I have a hard time believing, given her background, that her IQ is that high.:devil

I almost feel bad for her with this incessant invasion of what should be private records, but she's probably too daft to understand why.

I'd have to say that all this is rather distasteful, (and the 'swift-boating' of Palin (and McCain) by some of the Obamazealots is just as disgusting as it has been by the Republicans in the past) but is a pointed reminder of just how easy it is to access people's 'private' records in this day and age.

As much as I want to believe this (the IQ score), this guy seems give decent evidence that it's a fake. Admittedly, I only read through part of that thread though.

Regardless, I think her education background speaks for itself.

I was just mentionong to someone earlier today, that civility seems to be missing from today's society.

What happened to the days where you could disagree with someone's ideals, yet still treat them with respect?

They did manage to unearth her real SAT scorecard on that thread though!

Please show me a Presidential election in which this happened.

Any election before Nixon's....
While the debates were heated, you didn't have the degree of personal attacks that you see in today's elections, or society in general....

and you are just as guilty of the trend as anyone Sixee.

While I generally try to stick to the topics of the thread, I am guilty of engaging in personal attacks.

Usually this only happens after someone has said something about me first.

There have been cases of me engaging in unprovoked attacks, but those are generally reserved for those people who have proven themselves, time and time again, to have little or no value to the conversations outside of one or two subjects.

Now, the real kicker is, do I blame politicians for my behavior, or own up to it myself?

That depends on what the polling data is.

Although I agree that more respect in the election would be desirable, personal attacks are nothing new to the U.S. presidential election.

For example, here's a political cartoon from the 1884 election:

Grover Cleveland was accused of fathering an illegitimate child. There are lots of other examples down all the way to Washington.

Here's a good website that offers a history and chronology of these personal attacks in presidential elections of years past:

I'm surprised no one has mentioned her SAT scores, or GPA.

For those not wanting to look:

SAT Verbal: 425
SAT Math: 416

High School GPA: 2.2 (Why'd the blot out her self-reported class rank?)

Wow. I didnt think you COULD get into college with scores like that, much less 4 of them (dropping out of all 4 of them).

And regarding the bell-curve graphic match that that guy found - I cant say it's out of the realm of reasonableness that the same standard base IQ distribution graph is used by several testing organizations - I doubt it the data varies, so using the same base graph seems reasonable. Not saying it's definitely not-faked, but why would you bother fabricating something like that when all the other data in it is just as damning, and potentially throw your whole report into question?

It's a collation of lots of damning material, I doubt the person that put it together personally investigated or fabricated any of it.

LOL I knew a football player who scored a 450; that's TOTAL score. He was heavily recruited and had to retake the SAT until he got at least 750 (NCAA regs at the time) just to get into a div1 school. He did make it to the NFL and had a decent career. You would be surprised at how utterly dumb some atheletes really are. There are ways around such things if you know the right people. My college actually pressured the university president to resign in 2002 b/c he coerced the registar to fudge a bball player's grade so he was qualified to play the next season which subsequently led the team to a national championship (which we won, which was later completely revoked and the NCAA slapped fines and suspensions). So, this does not surprise me at ALL.

Oops!

Oops what? We have one guy who says that because a standard looking bell curve was used the IQ picture must be fake, and we have a single blogger (who is this person, and why should I believe her?) who says that apparently someone used her SAT score picture to make Palin's (who would admit to those scores??).

My question is - this background was part of the official report into Palin's alleged misconduct, right (please correct me if I'm wrong)? So, why hasnt Palin, or the McCain campaign, or any official representative of them or the Republican party come out and denounced the inaccuracy of that portion of the report, and then use that "proof of forgery" to then call into question the accuracy of the rest of the report?

I havent seen anything along those lines other than random internet posters - the word of 2 bloggers. I cant imagine that SAT and IQ scores like that in an official report would go unquestioned by someone unless it was accurate. *I* sure as hell would jump all over it if someone produced a forged document stating I had an IQ of 83, and an absolutely pitiful SAT score.

The thing is, you can't fake what you sound like, what you say, and what your education history is. To me, they all say "dumb as a fucking rock".
