It hasn't been announced yet, but it is rumored (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/09/rumor-planetside-next-launching-in-march/) to be coming as early as March 2011.
I don't recall if many of you played Planetside. I loved that game. Sure, it had some areas where it was lacking; but ultimately it was a lot of fun, especially if you had a group of friends to form a squad with. With the technology now days and hopefully having learned some lessons, Planetside next could potentially be something amazing.
I'll be playing it either way.

Either way being awesome or not awesome?

I had fun with it for a bit; it was fun and some of those battles were epic. I'll definitely check out what the new one looks like.

Without a doubt I'll be checking it out w/ the rest of you.
I'll admit, SOE isn't my favorite games developer ... far from it ... but I'm also not gonna wait until 2013 or whenever Titan is coming out for some MMOFPS action.

I loved Planetside, I just hate SOE passionately for their mismanagement of several great games. Still, I'd love to see another attempt.

Planetside was one of the few PvP games I really got into, maybe the only one. I'll be interested in seeing what they do with it. Hopefully the endless cycling of Axe commercials won't be part of the relaunch...

I haven't done any research, but still haven't heard anything about this. Any more information out there?
Although I must say I'm not highly intrigued - I enjoyed planetside for a couple of months until it just became a game of taking bases back over during X hours of the day, only to lose them again at Y time of the night etc. At least, that was my experience.
