I'm not sure how it's been 4 months since this came out as we still don't have a thread on it. Valve knocked one out of the park here. It's exactly as difficult as it aught to be, and the story has the exact right number of dramatic bits as it needs, with music I keep wanting to listen to over and over. This title lives up to its hype every bit as much as Game of Thrones did.

This is a game who's opening had to live up to the opening of Half Life, and it beats it hands down. There are so many broad jokes, subtle jokes, jokes that you only get hours later, OMFG moments, and that's not even counting the almost 40 two player coop levels.

To properly prep for this game, I give you the walk through of the finale of the original portal HEAVILY SPOILERIFIC FOR the original PORTAL:

I have never played portal 1 (and I'm trying to buy an orange box off of ebay right now), so I won't watch the videos.

A good friend of mine brought portal 2 over this weekend because he'd never tried the coop battles. The next thing I knew, 3 hours had passed and we hadn't put down the controllers yet. He left the game at my house, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the single player game currently. I have basically just started chapter 6.

This game is loads of fun. I've even caught my wife looking up from her book (kindle) she's reading staring at the puzzles. She's even enjoying it.

I loved Portal 2 especially the co-op modes!

I was tentative to buy the game because last time I got HalfLife 2 Ep2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2 all bundled together. Seemed expensive for what is probably a short-ish game compared to the last gameplay I got out of those 3.

Portal 2 is plenty of game play. Yes you can finish the single player in two days, but it's worth it. This is the only visual medium that can handle a novel length story, and this game tells a great one, through both game play AND awesome cut scenes. At least two OMFG moments. Many "Gut busting hilarious" moments. Some great "Sit back and watch the awesome" moments. It's good enough for me to have watched each and every "lets play" on youtube of the finale and a few other scenes. I've even watched a french version all the way through.

Only the first video is spoilerish. The second two are tv advertisements.

Finished it last night. Time to get a few more trophies, and then I'll run through Portal 1 (just got my Orange Box in the mail).

I'll admit, it's even better if you'd played portal 1 first.

Yeah, I just happened to start playing the game because a friend brought it over, so he could attempt the 2 player missions after he beat it. He left it so I could play through it, and after I got about halfway through it, I thought maybe I should play part 1.

I don't know how long part one is, but I'm 15 tests of 19 through at least the first portion of the game.

Co-op mode is VERY fun.

Part 1 is those 19 tests...for the most part....which is why in Portal 2 after you finish your 19 tests..well, you'll just have to play it....It's just yet another bit of narrative timing that is full of win.

I just beat it tonight - awesome game, and one of the best endings I've seen in a while. Not especially difficult, but very entertaining.

Now I just need to sucker a friend into co-op.
