Was just curious as to how many people would be interested in a reunion of sorts. Not necessarily on the Tribunal Server, but all could be in one guild. Something with Ayo Ro in the title.

I dunno, just thought I'd throw it out there and see what people think.

I canceled my Sony account a long time ago and wouldn't really want to blow that kind of money to start up again. Interestingly enough, I have gotten sucked into playing on occasion on some of the EQ1 emulator servers out there (not having a monthly fee to contend with). They have their own problems (incomplete functionality, somewhat unreliable server availability and much smaller player base), but at least they are inexpensive to get into (basically you have to buy Sony's Titanium or Secrets of Faydwer client). If it were done on one of those servers, I would probably participate but others likely wouldn't.

If you were thinking of something in RL I'd be down for that but I have no intentions of playing EQ1 ever again :(

Once you play the MMo's and games with high resolution graphics, it's very hard to play EQ1 with it's outdated looks. It was great for it's day but needs a serious overhaul to the EQ2 level of looks before i'd play again.

Eq2 looks like crap though :( Worst looking mmo out. I still have my 39 sk though. Its slowly growing on me.

Id be interested in a reunion perhaps.

I mostly play EQmac now , EQ emu, and Eq2.

That is only for you Crys...

I've played them all, not one of them has the intricate raids, the depth of game nor the feel of EQ.

They are all glitz, no substance.

I would love too. It's like with my old guild, Jokers. You desperately want to recreate the unprecedented feelings and emotions - not to mention fun - we used to have.

I just don't think it's possible :/

so then you've raided in EQ2 and WoW recently? like say in the last year year and a half?

I just think you're an old fogy :p

I won't deny EQ1 was a load of fun to play and probably still is to a degree for most people. But when i went back for the free trial awhile back, the pixelated graphics where a major letdown for someone used to 1920x1200+ graphics in games and mmo's now...
It's good for a visit i'd say in my case but a major overhaul of graphics would probably be a good idea since the graphics are pretty much 5-10 years old.
But that's just me..hehe

If only SOE would take a page out of Christian Bale's book and "Reboot" the series.

Same lore (well, at least up to Velious), same classes and races, but give it a fresh look.

I dunno, maybe it's a pipe dream, but no other game held me like EQ.

No other game held you like EQ because you didn't have the choices you do now. Basically, we weren't smart enough to realize how boring and repetitive it was. Ignorance was bliss!

The progression servers are always a lot of fun for the first hour and then painful after that, that's why their player base disappears so quickly - we re-realize why we moved on in the first place.

When was the last time you raided end game raids in EQ? The same could be said about your opinion.

That said, I wouldn't be interested in packing up and starting over on a new server. I WOULD be interested in an aro get together though if it was held within a couple hundred miles of my home.

Hell we have folks that return all the time after beating the newest expansion in WoW in record time, or EQ2.

The high end raids in EQ are just fun as all get out;)

I am an old fogey however and attached to my ranger created almost 10 years ago!

- I dunno. It was more than that. I don't think lack of choice compelled us to invest years of time and friendship into it.

The time sinks and repetition is what allowed us to be social and i think honestly that was the real draw.

I don't miss the grind of endless levels and waiting hours upon hours for one spawn.

I miss the hours and hours of chat/banter back and forth while waiting for said things.

I miss being able to chill in 1 spot and chat with the group instead of wandering around the same damn zone for the 20th time.

The only opinion I have that matters is that Fanny is an old fogey and he substantiated it! ;)
