Ok.. so I need to update my video card for EQ. I am looking to spend in the neighborhood of 150.00. I have a p4.
Could I get some opinions on which card is the best EQ card within this price range?
I have looked them over, and all, but I would rather hear from players that truly know how the cards work.
Thanks in advance!

GeforceFX 5700 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-122-185&depa=0)
I have had great luck with the GeforceFX series in my wifes comp.

the 5700 is probably the "best bang for your buck" card right now, if your just very casual, interested in saving more money go with a ti4200 or 4600, super cheap cards now and will run in any raid environment

I have the 4600 and it works great, so if the newer card meets your pricepoint, get it. Just be sure to get 128mb of RAM on the card.

Spend a little more.
Raidion 9800 PRO Sapphire for $224 (http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-268&depa=0) right now, shipped free at NewEgg. Good luck beating that.
(Ok, there are a couple places on Pricewatch at $221 and $222, but I'd shop at NewEgg before any of them...)

At this point, if you're not in desperate need, I'd say to wait. Nvidia and ATI both have new generation chips coming out in the not too distant future, which will drive prices down on the current stuff.
Plus, if you're mainly interested in a card for EQ, it would probably be smart to wait and see what's up with this new engine. Knowing SoE, it'll work better on one brand than the other (or neither, more likely).

True - but isn't Nvidia supposed to have some sort of issue with DX9, so ATI has the advantage?
DAmmit. I think companies are trying to up price points a bit. I've always tried to spend $200 on the graphics card for the main computer.

Slightly off topic here but does anyone know what the req's are going to be for this new EQ engine?

found the geforce fx 5200 ultra at Walmart for 98.00. I installed it and yay!! It seems to be working well!
Thanks for the input, it is much appreciated!
