I have a thoery about the reason we can read this.

It`s because when reading humans can automatically evaluate the sentence and predict what might come next.

e.g. Have you ever been reading a book and a sentence has gone over to the next page, even though you haven`t read it yet you can guess what the next words might be.This helps us interpret the mixed up letters.
It`s just a thoery,no need to flame plzkkthx

Or because, as stated, we look at the first and last letter and march onward... :b

I have issues with this - for example, if I'm reading a book and two characters have very similar names, I spend the entire novel mixing their names up because I'm not reading letter by letter. Drives me nuts.

Darned authors! Be more creative!

I think vowel placement impacts it, that's why mines was harder to read.

Liper is right on here. It's been repeatedly shown that people can read 'pronounceable' combinations (even if they make no sense) far more quickly than 'unpronounceable' ones (such as when the vowels are all jammed up together, etc. In any case, I had no problem reading any of those sentences at normal speed, which I found quite amusing... :)
