If someone breaks the above rules and you want the staff to do something about it, then use the contact an administrator button or send a member of the staff a PM. In your PM/mail, make sure to include a exact quote of what have been said, and a exact link to where it have been said. Also, make sure that it’s a actual rule violation you complain about. Do not ask us to take your side in a flamewar or to take action against someone just because you dislike him. Also, keep a civil tone and accept from the start that the people in the staff will have to use their own judgements. Pulling a "do as I say, or the board iz teh suck" won't get you any sympathy or respect.

Previous issues on this board have involved board members threatening other board members. You should remember, since you posted extensively in those items.

This signature violates the rules. It is slightly too wide. Besides the fact that everyone must agree that this signature is even WAY LESS annoying then any 150 pix tall signature, I agree, its against the board rules (which should have been adjusted, due to the fact that this signature clearly is ok, seriously, there's no real argument why this signature should not be ok). But, yes, I violated the rules with it. Unknowingly at first.
So, consequence was, I was being "signerfed", admins chased my posts all over and removed my signature, we had huge discussions about it and at one point I was several times threatened to get banned if I keep using the signature.

Now this is my problem. With one person you are being a pain in the ass about the details of the rules and with others you don't give a shit. No, people even create signatures that violate the rules on purpose and noone does anything about it. This after I have almost been banned for above mentioned signature.

(a) you do seem to mind enforcing the rules. You only seem to want to enforce the rules when you think it's noble to do so.

(b) you don't have to check signatures. Other people have stepped up and identified signatures that are too large for the board. This follows the first one. As long as you have a rule, posted, with clear definitions (450 isn't 451, even for large values of 450), you should follow it -- see (c)

I enjoyed reading some of the baiting going on in both directions when it is targetted on outlooks or issues of substance. Bitching and moaning over something as stupid as signatures really degrades the board. If I were an admin, I would have gotten sick of the whole thing long ago to the point of banning sigs completely.

It's like going to a political debate between two diametrically opposed politicians expecting some good arguments and instead being treated to endless tirades about the color or length of each other's neckties.

Even though I rarely agree with many of Ralf's posts, I did enjoy arguing with him and will miss his tirades on this board. It's going to be more boring around here for a while unless someone else takes up his banner.

Ytrok was trying to police the bords for himself, and in doing so implying that he thought the admins weren't doing their jobs. We all understood that Marz's sig was one pixel too big when he first said it. Then, it got annoying and it was obviou that the sole reason he was doing it was provocation. Marz just decided the provoke back.

In addition, Ytrok already had his warnings, and was on his last strike. Thats what happens when you're being a dumbass and just trying to stir shit up.

I was NOT trying to get Ytrok banned. The thought had never even crossed my mind.

Ytrok made a HUGE board disruption over ONE pixel. Over some personal issue he has with me. Anyone else just overlooked the sig. If Ytrok hadn't started a huge stir, my sig would have cycled back to a normal one within 2-3 days.

My sigs change alot, before the 1 pixel over the limit sig I DID have a compliant sig (minus the link, which I have figured out now.), but Ytrok just couldn't shut up.

Ytrok's mistake? Having a HISTORY of flame baiting WAY more than anyone here. In ALL parts of the board. Hell, he was flame baiting when Elemak posting about how he was shipping out to the military, in the GENERAL part of the forum.

There is a very good reason why Marz wouldn't be banned. It's that there is no precident where someone was banned for sig violation.
