I freaking cried tears of joy when they beat the Yanks. Now hopefully they will sweep the Cards tonight, if not i kinda want them to win it Game 6 in Fenway. Its been 18 years since my team has been in world series and I couldnt be happier.

Grats to the Sox. I love how people think Yankee's fans really care. When you get a Redsox Dynasty, then I will be concerned.
While I can understand that Red Sox fans are and should be overjoyed, they still can't come close to comparing to the Yanks.

screw history....if that was the case the knicks should never ever ever ever ever talk. 8 titles in a row is longest in **ANY** US sport. But we don't care about history we care about today, and today Boston are the champs.

If the Red Sox could afford to buy up every other team's greatest players, I'm sure they'd be just as good. ;)

Ok, the parent quote for this was:

Let me make one thing perfectly clear. The Boston Red Sox are, by definition, the best team in all of baseball. You see, they established this system, by which teams would play 162 games to determine a play-off system, and that system would determine the best team.

They are the best because the WINNER is the best. Do they have the most talent? Who effing cares. They're the best because the only criteria for best baseball team is the one that won.

Boston won, they're the best -- this year.

In related news, the best football team this year will win the Superbowl. [In somewhat related news, the best Hockey team this year will be decided by Electronic Arts.]

:(

Last season I really get into hockey, so they do a lockout.

Yep, if you want Yankees fans to really take notice you say two words :

"salary cap"

haha salary cap. It would hurt boston too but would do wonders for baseball. (Brewers, Royals, Detroit would have a chance)

I NEED MY HOCKEY BACK! NOTHING TO WATCH! God knows my Broncos sucked Monday. Oh yea, Baseball is boring.

I agree Baseball is boring unless you are at the game enjoying an overpriced "few" beers and a hotdog. God, how can people enjoy watching it on TV? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well, since you asked. Multiple camera views, replays, McCarver and Buck are pretty decent commentators, statistics, history, Beer is less expensive, so are hotdogs, I live 20+ hour drive from the stadium, no ticket price, no dealing with after game traffic...need more reasons why i enjoy watching it on TV?

nope.

But I was directing this at the sport in general. I don't know how anyone can watch regular season games on TV. Sure the championships are different still I'd rather watch golf.

I hate commentators, I think they are worthless. I don't give a crap how many teams have won when they up by 2 runs in the 7th inning or how many teams have won if they scored first, errored first, walked the first batter, ect. I just want to watch the damn game hence being there is so much better :)

The only exception to commentators is Dick Vitale and college bball, he's so silly I enjoy listening to him make an ass out himself.

I am in no way a real baseball fan, but I do congratulate the Sox on finally breaking their 'curse'. Woot!

My monsterous bar tab was completely worth it. It's indeed a great day to be a BoSox fan :)

Should be an interesting off-season, the Sox have a lot of free agents to talk to and no doubt the Yanks will throwing some money around.

A salary cap would be interesting to say the least. Imagine what teams like the Expos and Twins could have done all these years in a somewhat level playing field :p

At least I don't have to watch the Bruins lose to a lower seeded team in the first round this year.

What scares me is the $250,000 fine the NHL levied against an owner who said something to the effect of:

We'll wait until these players contract expires/they quit and start from the ground up anyhow.

The funny thing is, that might be the best solution to the problem. Pay the fuckers less- about half what they are making now, reduce ticket prices, go to an International sized rink and get rid of the red-line.

I love hockey, and I can *afford* to attend one or two games a year. I'd like to go to more- and I did when the Albany River Rats were my home team.

I just hope they keep Varitek. He went to my high school in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Between him and Trot Nixon my two favorites.
