There are multiple organizations conducting polls. Some of the organizations only conduct polls in a limited number of states, which is why the total number of electoral votes isn't the same on every line.
"Latest Poll Per State" goes state by state and uses the results of whichever organization's statewide poll was conducted most recently.
"Poll of Polls" also goes state by state:
Our current method:
* if one or more polls were conducted in the last 30 days, average them
* 2 else, use the last poll ever conducted in the state
Note: this method is likely to change. 30 days is fine now but as we approach the election, it will seem like an eternity of a window to average.
"National Average": This is the average of a number of polls that were conducted nationwide instead of being confined to a specific state. This provides an estimate of how the popular vote would look if the election were held today.
The rest are the individual organizations' state-by-state poll results. You can click on each one to get a state by state breakdown.

Obama got a nice bounce from the DNC even before his speech ( which I think will double his bounce more than his previous speakers)
