Obama has set a date, and will leave only 50,000 of our troops in Iraq after the deadline.

Republicans seem to love the plan while Democrats are not sure and have problems with the residual amount of troops left in Iraq.

Personally I like the plan, and I think 50k troops is not too many seeing as how in Germany which we have no war currently taking place, we have 56k troops.

I happen to agree, and if things start to spiral there's no rule saying we can't change the plan.

ROFL. Odd things do happen.

But anyone who thought every last troop would be out of there had to be smoking some serious industrial grade weed. WW2 ended over 60 years ago and we still have a military presence there. We're going to maintain one as longs as we can. And hopefully in another 60 years it'll be much like our bases in Germany and Japan, at least in the aspect of it's so peaceful soldier's can take their families there to live with them and vacation etc etc... fat chance I know, but I can still hope right?

Yes there will ALWAY be some military presence there for the rest of eternity.
