Is in the air ! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21491206/

Not only is Ethanol forcing people to starve the world over from price increases that removed the staple from shipments to needy nation. It has affected the corner stone of society... drinking a beer with friends.

Combined with having to wish Jerry Jones luck in solving the NFL network issue to bring 8 prime time games into my living room this season. I say lets take to the streets in protest and shoot our guns into the air until we get goverment over sight and control of the issues for the betterment of all.

* added the shooting part :)

The discovery that a common grass (switchgrass) can be even more successful for the production of ethanol might shift the focus off corn, due to the hugely differing energy costs involved in the two; switchgrass requires little labor/energy in terms of general farming activity, or irrigation or fertilization.
Minimal imprint from the grass as compared to a large enough one from corn to almost offset the savings of corn-based ethanol.

The problem would be if traditional corn growers all start changing crops, which would then still have a major impact on the world's food supply.

Switchgrass is relatively easier to grow is my understanding. Soil requirements aren't nearly as strict as corn can be.
