Man, this guy was truly a comedy genius. He was the only comedian that was able to slip in life lessons into his raunchy, satirical humor. He made you laugh AND made you think at the same time. He wasn't afraid of what the Government had to say, and was (from an outside point of view) a true American, believing in the American Constitution and the Liberty that you guys fought so hard for during the war of Independance. Definately one of the great thinkers of our time.
RIP Georgy

I almost expected to read something on snopes this morning that someone said he died, but he hadn't really died. Carlin was great, and I wish I'd taken my chance to see him 2 years ago when he was here in Columbus.

Remember his Radio Station Wonderful Wino:

Saw him a few years ago at the Paramount in Denver, best stand-up performance I've witnessed...I'll miss him greatly. He was the guy I wasn't supposed to listen to as a teen, glad I didn't listen to my parents. http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/wink.gif

:(
Classic Carlin:
Things you never see...A Rolls Royce with a bumper sticker that says..."Shit Happens"
A 6'5" red haired chinese guy taking a shit while running at full speed!
For some reasons those two things always cracked me up.

Yeah, here's hoping that todays generation learns from this guy the one thing he's tried to get across all these years. It's simply one word: THINK!
I hope that you find the Sun warm George and may Joe Pesci bless you with his presence. (You George Carlin fans will know what I'm talking about hehe)

A great comedian, a wonderful student of language, and one of the few that could get the same laughs from the same joke from the same crowd. One of my favorite acting roles of his was in "Dogma". It was fun watching his career and persona change over the years, from the clean-cut comic that appeared on Ed Sullivan to the edgier comedian that Johnny Carson loved to have on to the stoner/elder statesman hippie that hosted Saturday Night Live.
And one of my favorite lines from an early comedy album: "Why is it okay to prick your finger, but not okay to finger your prick?".
Rest in peace George.
I wonder if he believes in God today .... :)

Wow, what a loss. Not just a funny man, but a very intelligent individual.
