Seeing this tonight, anyone else looking forward to it?

I loved Prince of Thieves, as did everyone, but I've always secretly wished it would have focused more on English medieval politics and warfare, than it did on the actual Robin Hood legend.

This looks set to do so - lots of battles with the French!

I hear this was better ten years ago when they called it Gladiator.

I was pretty disappointed, thb. I picture Robin as somewhat rascally with his merry men, this was far too serious for me and not that entertaining except for the fight scenes.

I rather enjoyed it to be honest. Quite a different take on the usual Hollywood story. I adore Cate Blanchett and I felt her and Crowe did well together. It felt too short to me though, like it was a bit rushed...but on the flip side some of the early stuff was a little drawn out. I would liked to have seen more of the last half of the movie and less of the first half is what I'm trying to say.

Otherwise, I was entertained.

She is the reason I will see it, because I enjoy her work. I still bring up her performance in "The Gift" whenever friends are talking about great actresses.
She has done period costume roles enough that slipping into this character should be quite easy. If not for her I would pass, since I can barely tolerate Russell Crowe.
