Better than Harry Tuttledove by far if you like the idea of folks from today's era thrown back in time.

Stirling seems to have a good grasp of historical facts and weaves in modern era personalties and the culture shock that ensues on both sides.

Enjoying the sequel to the Island in the Sea of Time now "Against the Tide of Years".

My pick of the month if you're looking for something to read.

IIRC that was either a three or four book series. Lots of fun to read! He is also writing a series about what happens to the rest of the world after "The Event". The twist being that its not about the Nantucket Island peeps, its about the rest of the world and what happened to it after Nantucket disappeared.

Yeah I read about that other half of the event. I plan on reading those after I'm done with this series.

Good stuff, modern folks thrown back to 1,000 BC and the fun that comes of that. Of course there's one amongst the modern era crew that's "evil" and takes off with a crew to stake his own claim in the world.

After reading the first 2 books in the series I'm eagerly looking for the others.

Already read the first series and have all the post-change books for the second series. Eagerly awaiting the next one in line...
