Anyone notice the new redhead is the lead singer of Garbage. And ironic is this video.

Didn't notice til last night when the episode started. Wife and I looked at each other when we saw Shirley Manson's name in the opening credits, and then realized she was the female T-1000 from the previous week.

Found it relatively hard to follow last night, of course that could have been from flipping back and forth to the Steeler game last night.

What a horrible episode, though I see it as a possible setup to delve into the human cameron (Alison) having been john Connors lover in the future. Still I found it incredibly boring last night.

What, you didn't catch the subtext of human Allison possibly still being a functioning part of terminator Cameron?

Maybe there's a reason John sent her back, as in maybe she represents the future hope of humankind?

The range of emotions the "broken" Cameron was able to show seems to hint that perhaps this terminator is a new breed of machine. One with a living human's ID/persona imprinted on the terminator to some level.

A type of coexistence that perhaps would be the hope of mankind ( and a future John Conner)

Tal, its because Shirley wasnt in the credit of any other episode :P

The second i saw her name it hit me who she was. Wow she looks rough now.

Looking at the technology vs. biology warfare, a symbiotic relationship would be the only way it could really be resolved without total annihilation, hence a robot with some biological imprinting and aspect would be a logical outcome. (Sheesh, typing stuff like that makes me wish I was still a young pot head, hehehe)

I don't see how you can say she looks rough, nor how you can say she looks hot. She is definetly about average imho.

I'm loving this season. It's a fun show that doesn't require much brain power. Even the Allison from Palmdale episode was interesting - all just brain candy.

I'm a week behind, watching via iTunes. The last episode, where Sarah is between dreams, was blech, but other than that some interesting episodes this season.

Still watching and enjoying it. I think they said last week that there were only two episodes left, not sure if that meant for the season or the series.

Spoiler if you arent up to date on episodes:

Thank god they killed Riley off. Frack me she was annoying as hell.

The action episodes are great...ala Jimmy Carter...but the show is brain candy, and shouldn't aspire to the massive character arcs present in some episodes. I'm still enjoying in though, and I love the actor playing Sarah (Headly?).

I agree with the spoiler above, about time they did that!

FUCK THIS SHOW!!!!! (in a good way)

FUCK THEM FOR KILLING CHARLIE, i really liked his character it fucked blows!!. I have a theory now. OK JOhn Henry was attacked by a Cyderdyne computer/AI. SO we know there is two of them. What if one of them grows up to be SKynet and the other hides in the background. And when Conner asks "them" to join him and they send the t-2000 to tell him the answer is no, that he was asking this second faction for help.

Ya

I think that Shirley Manson is part of the "good" faction of cyborgs. The one that John was loking for an answer from. And actually I suprised my wife when I figured it out early on tonight.

I think Grey has the right idea, especially after the conversation in the elevator.

A metaphor for the insignificance of humans to the cyborgs, perhaps?

I'm guessing this is the final season, since the last few episodes have started knocking off major characters?

I really liked Derek, and I'm still not sure how I felt about his death. I think they're trying to cram reasons for John to mature together - he has to fight, because he keeps losing people he loves.

I still don't understand what happened at the end.... They teleported to the future? And connor meets hisself? Or what?

Fandros
04-13-2009, 07:56 AM
Wasn't that Conner meeting his Dad?

Greystone Thorngage
04-13-2009, 07:59 AM
No they teleported to the future, so the time line changed because there was no JOhn Conner to lead the revolution, because he jumped to the future, it also means Sarah and Ellison were unable to stop Skynet from the looks of things.

The guy John met was his own father, if you recall when Sarah was shot and delerious a few episodes back she kept seeing him and even talked to him.

Lastly, I want credit for calling the two factions thing!!

Fandros
04-13-2009, 09:38 AM
Oh you were spot on Grey, when it was made clear there were two factions Friday night I told myself " Ha Grey was dead on! ".

Now they better not cancel it as I'm more than a bit curious how a shape shifting terminator came to want to work for an alternative to Skynet.

Greystone Thorngage
04-13-2009, 09:53 AM
Perhaps 2 AI's are built and both come to different conclusions about humanity and what not. Much like you and I we differ on how things should go. Could be same concept.

I finally caught the episode tonight. I'm guessing that's the end?

Anyone else get a weird heaven/afterlife feel? "Oh look, it's okay, we're all reunited together again, even though it's different! And Cameron can play with doggies!"

What was the cold thing Cameron had John feel? And why did that require a lack of bra?

This is the stupidest show ever. I regret every time someone convinces me to watch this.

The whole mawkish teen-sex exploration crap was due to (I'm not making this up) John thinking that the Terminator's leaking power source had given his mother cancer. BUT IF IT HAD, THEN CLEARLY cutting her open and having a juvenile titty grab was in order and TOUCHING THE RADIOACTIVE PART WITH HIS HAND WAS A GOOD IDEA.

I have no idea what the ending was all about but I'm guessing John wrote himself out of history and went to a slightly better future apocalypse where he could meet the man that would no longer be his father, because some daddy issues are about the only thing missing before this becomes Days of Our Robots.

What was the cold thing Cameron had John feel? And why did that require a lack of bra?

His hand was inside her body reaching up to around where the human heart would be.

He was checking her shielded thermo nuclear power source for heat which would show that it was leaking and possibly caused his mom to get cancer. It was cold and that was a good thing, meaning it wasn't leaking.

THEORY TIME -- Spoilers follow

I believe that John traveled to the future to the point BEFORE Kyle Reese came back to the past to protect his mother and her unborn son. That is why they do not know John Connor yet.

Because he isn't born yet in the time frame they are in. Kyle will go back, impregnate Sarah, and then John will be born and the future changed.

THAT SETS UP.... John being able to give them info that changes his own past. Derrick hasn't traveled back in time yet in the timeline John just entered. So he can warn them and things might possibly change.

This is very far fetched, but I cannot believe that Weaver brought him somewhere that would ruin the future that is SUPPOSED to happen.

I think the hand reaching through the body part was to show the attraction that John feels towards Cameron. I actually think that a shocker we will find out is that Cameron and Future John have a relationship, hence Johns ability to trust metal.

They are set to make an official announcement come May 18th. I suspect both Dollhouse and Chronicles are going to fall by the way side sadly.

Most Americans would rather have their bubble gum mentality safely ensconced in brain numbing reality shows. It makes folks twitchy to have to "think" during a television show.

EHH wrong!

Meanwhile, Sarah Connor Chronicles writer Ashley Edward Miller Twittered that we shouldn't take Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello too seriously when he claims the show is already canceled, since he said the same thing before season two, and midway through season two:

Time for Ausiello's semi-annual SCC termination report. False again. (Remember "sets were destroyed" report? Now you know context, people).

(For the record, Sarah Connor Chronicles has no standing sets, as anybody who's watched the show can attest.) For his part, showrunner Josh Friedman settled for Twittering:

Waiting for Michael Ausiello to tell me what I'm supposed to do now with my career.

And if we get a season 3...

So what would happen if Sarah Connor Chronicles gets a third season? Actor Brian Austin Green spilled a few details to Comic Book Resources, and it sounds fantastic:

The third season is going to be incredible, if it happens. There were no intentions of this being a series finale. It was absolutely a season finale. There's a plan where this can go and it's so good....

You have this episode where John Connor travels to a future where John Connor never existed. I don't know if people completely get it because we work on a string theory, which we've dealt with during the season. We dealt with that with Jessie, in the future that she came from there was Charles Fisher, who tortured everyone. In the future I came from, he never existed. I don't remember him. We were still together within these parallel futures but they were still different and they still had their own paths. This is the same concept. For John Connor to travel to a future where he never existed, where Kyle Reese never left, where Derek and Kyle are still fighting side by side, where Allison (the human Cameron was based on) is still very much present, what becomes of John? What better situation for somebody to grow up in and become the future leader than that? Than to be fighting in what he's been trying to prevent? Not just being the top dog, being listened to for everything, but having to actually listen and follow.

And he clarified that, despite that crackle of lightning at the end, Sarah Connor did stay behind in the present. And John Connor himself may have sent Catherine Weaver back in time to create an alternative to Skynet. He also talks about Derek's undramatic death scene, and how the producers always planned to bring him back in the alternate future. It sounds like if we get a third Sarah Connor season, Derek will be back full time.

LOL, I just finished watching the entire seven seasons of Buffy TVS, watching 2-3 episodes per night in place of the dreadful offerings being broadcast.

Think I will go watch Dark Angel next.

And Babylon 5 might get another run come summer, even though I watched it just a couple years ago. It is still better than the crap they are serving us these days.
