... is a terrible actor... The only role he plays is the foolish, "cute" boy. Saw Indiana Jones and just thought he's going to ruin the future!

I hate this idiot. His show on Disney Channel was painful enough. Transformers made me want to vomit. Not sure I'll see the new Indy movie.

Transformers represents everything that is wrong with American cinema these days.

I liked Disturbia, it was a fun little movie. Transformers was also ok, but the reasons I didn't think it was great, had nothing to do with this actor.

It had to do with the divorces from the animated television series that were made. My inner geek screamed when I saw Bumblebee as a Camero, not a Volkswagon.

And Megatron's 4 minutes of screentime, as well as his transformer mode being some sort of twisted airplane didn't sit well with me.

It didn't totally suck, though. I wouldn't call it EVERYTHING that is wrong with American cinema.

Except for Planet of the Apes, all of the movies on this list were easily worse than Transformers....

Quite a few movies here I plan to see including Indiana Jones :)

That list was pretty solid as far as bad movies Sixee, though I'd argue they were more overhyped than the worst movies - I've seen worse :) Rushmore I actually kinda liked though, that one deserves off the list. Planet of the Apes was a pitiful remake :(

Rather than waste money on something like Transformers, rent something good like an old classic Nick and Nora Charles "Thin Man" movie, or "My Man Godfrey" with William Powell. Or some low budget fun escapist movies like "Legend of Billie Jean" or "Pump Up The Volume" or "Dave" or "Basic" or "The Quiet Man" or "Don Juan DeMarco". There are so many good movies, it is senseless to reinforce Hollywood's lack of creativity by buying tickets to trash.

I was originally going to reply to this and say he wasn't that bad in Transformers, but then I saw Indiana Jones 4 yesterday. Yeah, he was amazingly annoying in it. What the hell?

Best part of the new Indy movie was Cate Blanchett kicking Laboof's ass. Audience approval was high.

Cheesiest movie? "Attack of the killer tomatoes" and any of it's sequels... Gigli would give it a run for the money tho.
Actually, they are so bad it makes them worth watching imho just to see the horrible acting and cheesy jokes.
Shia Labouf was decent in Transformers, but nothing really memorable about his acting imo.
I agree that sometimes older movies are more fun to watch. "The quiet man" is a great movie that stands up well even now.
BUT having grown up with parents who loved to watch every old movie and musical at least 2-3 times a year, (sometimes a month), i tend not to want to watch them much nowadays. :p
Gotta watch the 3 stooges tho...timeless classic.

She is a great actor and plays so many good characters. I thought that whole scene was a little overdone. The worst thing about him in the movie was that damn cheesy mustache, otherwise I think he was alright.

While "The Gift" is best known by many as the movie in which Katie Holmes left her teenage persona behind, Cate Blanchett was outstanding in it. This was actually a pretty good movie, with one of those WTF! endings that leaves ya' appreciating the actors and a good story.

Keanu Reeves did turn in one of his usual cheesy acting jobs tho', heh.

"The Quiet Man" was one of my favorite John Wayne movies, and I have a copy on my shelf, and have probably watched it at least ten times. I love the scenery as much as the flow of the film; much like "Ryan's Daughter", in that it highlights some of the beauty of Ireland.

As far as older movies tho', I have never found someone that did not enjoy "My Man Godfrey" with William Powell, regardless of their age. The characters are strange enough, and the little subplots humorous enough, to keep most chuckling if not outright laughing throughout. There have been attempts to remake this, David Niven being one 'Godfrey' substitute, but none can capture the facial expressions of Powell, which also was a huge factor in the success of the Thin Man series.

Old Movies? Well The Wizard of Oz was always 1 of my favorites, being a fantasy buff. I wish they'd remake it, without all the singing....

Wicked is DRASTICALLY different than The Wizard of Oz :) One has the witch the bad guy, one has her the hero.

I really enjoyed TinMan, and the nods it gave to the original. Good cast as well.

I tried to read the story Wicked, and throughly hated it. I can only hope the play was much better.

As for Tin Man, I saw the promos for it, and I think I even tried to watch the first installment. Must not have been very noteworthy, as I don't remember how it ended....

"I tried to read the story Wicked, and throughly hated it." Ditto for me. The musical was much better.

Tin Man is out on DVD now, add it to your netflix queue!
