Here in Minnesota, we have a hot race to fill the seat of a Congressman who is running to fill the seat of an outgoing Senator. Michelle Bachman who currently holds state office is running as the Republican nominee.

The Congressional seat represents Disctrict 6.

Pres Bush and Karl Rove came to town to 1) sign legislation regarding the medical billing area, or something like that, and 2) to campaign and raise money for Ms Bachman.

Having done their homework, and finding that while Washington County (a large part of District 6) is indeed one of the top per capita income counties in the nation, a certain city in District 3 has a history of giving larger campaign donations.

So, they went to the city in District 3 and campaigned for the District 6 candidate, raising approx $492k for the war chest. Pretty much sums up what the campaigns are all about these days. Don't talk to the people that will be voting, but rather go to those that will help you to outspend the other candidate.
