Ok, so, here's the hands-down game of the night. A player, villacash had been giving me a hard time on another table. I admit, I'm loose - reckless even - in the right game. I bump into him a lot. He prefers short-handed games. I prefer short-handed games. He'll leave a full table to sit short-handed. Me, not so much, but I still prefer them.

I join his short-handed game, pretty much breaking even, and for one reason or another (I cracked his hand, apparently, I didn't much notice) he begins to mouth off, lets get a private table, blah blah...

So, when the table fills up, he moves to another short-handed game (or starts a new table.)

I follow :)

The re-raise vlliacash did here isnt a bad move, it should let him/her know where Pali is at. But I dont get why he keeps re jamming. Eventhough its a short handed game chances are someone got the better flush.

But I dont get why he keeps re jamming

Cause he's got a hard on for Palimax. He just comes off as being, or trying to be, a "tough guy" in this hand. Sucker :p

Yeah, the first raises and re-raises are reasonable plays - on the end, that was just pure hardon :)

Personally, I don't even like those raises. Any 2 cards below an 8 and he loses half the pot by default and if he's behind in the high, he's drawing dead on the turn. Granted, I don't play much short handed Omaha, but in that situation I think it's best to just check/call.

Well, it's easy to call his bets dumb once you see my cards, but shorthanded, with a "good" hand both ways, it's hard not to put some pressure on your opponent.

Of course, to cap off last week's good run of poker, I took a beating last night :)

I'll try to rally tonight, if not, I'll take a nice mental health break.

fish50 doesn't show [ 9 , 8, 7, 5 ] a flush, ten high.

If he called all in, why does this say: doesn't show, then shows his cards?

Pali, if you are interested in a referral for ultimatebet or wherever you are playing, shoot me a tell in game please...

If someone is in the action at the end of a hand, and then doesn't show their cards, the "rules" of poker allow for you to see all hands involved in a show-down.

For example, if I bet, and you call, and I expose my cards, showing AA, beating your KK, often the guy with KK just says "good hand" and throws his cards away. Mostly as a rule to prevent collusion, you can always ask to see hands that were involved in a showdown. The polite way is to simply tell the dealer, "I'd like to see both hands, please." When you do that in a live game, the dealer will protect the muck (usually) and make sure nobody ditches their cards in it.

Since online you don't have the ability to ask the dealer, hands involved in the showdown are just shown in the logs. In the example above, Fish was all-in, so he was involved in the showdown, and had to at least reveal his hands "when asked" so it went in the log.

In the interest of full disclosure, the link below pays me cash if you sign up and play.

If you're going to play regularly, you can do us both a favor and do the following. Sign up using:

http://www.partypoker.com/index.htm?wm=2131784
Or use the bonus code "Palimax1"

I'll get a percentage of your lifetime rake, and you'll get the going rate of 20% of your intial deposit - up to $100 - so, if you deposit $500, you'll get a $100 bonus -- but, the deal with EVERY one of these bonuses is that you're going to need to play a minimum number of hands to be able to cash out the bonus. Your initial deposit is yours to remove at any time, but the EXTRA cash takes raked hands at the table, and the number of raked hands is porportional to the size of the deposit. So, if you're gunning for the free $100, expect to have to play (or at least watch others play) a lot of hands for you. RAKED HANDS are any hand you had cards in, not just ones YOU played in. So, a tight player can rack up a lot of hands. I recall having to play 200 or so hands to earn my bonus when I did this for someone else. I had to play 700 hands to get my last $100 bonus. [Well, I had to fold a lot of those hands, never seeing the flop, never paying a cent, but you get the idea...] I honestly don't make a dime from the link above if you're a casual player; but if you play regularly, hey, spread the love, and let me make a couple bucks that the casino was going to get already. They already took the rake, let them give me some back :)

If you're a casual player, and you want to make the most bonus on the SMALLEST investment, the link below (or bonus code) gets you $25 on your first deposit. It's a $50 minimum, and the hand minimums still apply, but the one below pays me straight up cash for referring you. *IF* you sign up below *AND* you make your first cash deposit that way *AND* they pay me, I'll kick back some cash to your account. I'm pretty sure that they're paying me $65 on these, should you complete the entire buy-in, earn-bonus circuit, so, I'll split it with you. Of course, you have to trust that I won't just tell you to FOAD, so, well, take all of this with a grain of salt.

OR use the bonus code "Palimax2"

I think the bonus codes are easier to manage, frankly, so here's the story on them:

Players enter their sign up bonus code on the Open Account screen in the PartyPoker.com software, which is the screen where they first select their AccountName and password. Once entered, the system will automatically record the code to give the player the bonus amount, if any, when they make their first real money deposit to their Account.

I can be found, many nights, playing as ThePalimax, normally in 10-20 Omaha/8 for cash, and in mini-steps for fun.
