Howdy folks

Yep, you're reading this right, I'm going back to school. After a workplace injury took me out of work, I cannot go back to Avionics. As quickly as the new career started, it's finished.

That being said though, Workers Compensation has decided that, after my aptitude and IQ tests came back, along with my previous earnings, they are going to pay me to go back to University. Hoping (and PRAYING!) to get into the Engineering faculty to do Computer Engineering. Needless to say, I have an assload of work to do in the near future.

Just figured I'd give you folks an update on what's going on hehe. It's not all bad. I'm getting paid to do a degree and I walk away scott free afterwards. Still, wrecking my back to do so kinda sucked, but hey, thems the breaks, right? ;)

Hey Bin, well done mate. I don't know about the US, but getting any kind of funding to do undergraduate, or postgraduate, study here in the UK is very rare, so if you have someone who is willing to foot the bill then that's fantastic. Though sorry to hear your job didn't work out, everything happens for a reason eh.

How did your career ruin your back?

A lot of issues with ergonomics can be fixed, I wouldn't totally blame the career path on your misfortune. Simply put, you can no longer perform the duties required of the job.

Of course he's Canadian. Let me make it more clear: bloody colonial. There you go, a brush I can tarnish all you North Americans with :P

Slip and fall on hydraulic fluid from a Dash 8. It wasn't properly cleaned up.

Needless to say, I slipped and literally came about four feet off the ground and then down on my ass.

Slipped disc, arthritis, some fusion.....not good for crawling around airplanes. I had tried to go back on ease back, but it made things worse.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Beothucks, they lived here before we did....till we shot them all. We kept trying to wave hi and they kept running away, so we shot them so we could catch up...... I didn't say we thought that plan through or anything. =P
