In an effort to counter the sheer idiocy of the glorified kareoke contest that is "american idol".
My local morning show hero and accomplished songwriter/publisher Bob Rivers does his very own contest titled "Write a Bleeping song".
After recieving over a thousand entries they have managed to filter it down to the best twenty two semi-finalists wich can be found here:

I think Bylimet in particular will really like Big hands Colvin's "overnight low".
I also though the song by surface tension "Jupiter start over" was particularly rocking.that i really wanna see a picture of Jennifer newberry who sings "Daddy", with a voice like that she's gotta be smoking!.
Also there's a band in there who i think has a pretty good chance of making to the national stage. see if anyone can guess who i'm thinking it is.(hint:shades of pearl Jam).
