Well, if tonight's season opening episode can be taken as an indication of the rest of the final season, it should be a fun and intense next eight episodes.

It was nice seeing some depth brought back into the characters.

It was boring....Kind of like the last three seasons. I hope it gets better.

The episode tonight was good - it's finally starting to pick up. I'm really interested to see what Christopher is going to do.

They are still knocking off unimportant characters. How about really pick up the pace here...there is only 4 more episodes. It would have been interesting if Christopher, while drunk, blew away Paulie last night in the bar. Now that would of been a good episode.

Christopher... Wow. Saw that coming but not really in that manner.

The rest of the episode I'm split on. It wasn't big on action which sucks but I'm finding it very easy to empathize with Tony's newfound introspection. I think they have done well in establishing his sense of mortality and his views on human nature - it's time for the bodies to hit the floor. :devil

Kind of a shitty death for someone so central, but good riddance really.

I have always been waiting to see Meadow step up more; at the funeral for the kid who robbed the poker game, she showed a more fierce sense of family loyalty when one of the other girls was running her mouth. I expected to see some script work putting her in a more intense situation where she steps in and calls some shots, showing some leadership and a take charge kind of character. /shrug I am probably way off there tho'.

I expected to see Christopher go but thought he would take out Paulie first. I am wondering if AJ is going to survive to the last episode.

I agree about Meadow. She's expressed all but approval for the family, more and more, over the years.

It sucks that Bobby and Sil hit the dirt. I think Paulie is going to have a big role in the last episode. Not only is he the only remaining captain, but there was that dream sequence with Pussy a couple of weeks ago where he says, "When it is my turn, will I stand up?" I sure hope standing up consists of putting a cap in Phil's ass.

I also thought when they were calling the boys from Italy that Furio was going to come. I got really excited =(

Did they confirm Sil dead? That sucks.

When Tony holed up in the bedroom with that gun, I couldn't help but think Scarface. Hopefully he won't go out like that.

Sil they said was not dead but probably won't ever regain consciousness.

I think it's kinda stupid that he knows he is a wanted man, Bobby has just been shot, and you are rolling around with your gun in a bag in your back seat? I'd be strapping at least two at all times within a hand's reach. I also wonder why they don't cut back on the strippers for a week and bulletproof their vehicles.

I wonder if they are going to let AJ redeem himself, or will he end the series as a whiny bitch crying on the floor? It'd be neat if he somehow saves Tony or Carm or something by shootin someone.

You're asking alot of AJ.

I think Tony will come out of the house and waste Phil himself. Scenes for next week certianly didn't have them holed up too long in Junors house too long.

It wasn't a bad ending, really. I was pretty "..." at first, but after watching it again I think it's pretty decent.

In the "previously on Sopranos" bit in the opening, they made a point to show Bobby and Tony's conversation where he said when you die maybe you don't even see it and everything just goes black.

The guy that went into the bathroom was Phil's nephew. He almost definitely came out and blindsided Tony. Probably a nod to the restaurant scene in The Godfather.

Meadow had that look on her face because she saw the guy coming up on Tony's side, through the door, but couldn't get there in time to warn him.

At least that's how I saw it.

SPOILER!!

"So here is what I found out. The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely Genius!!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.

So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?).

Absolutely incredible!!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends."

Other people are now saying that the stuff posted above isn't true and they were different actors. Either way I still think he bit the bullet.
