Upcoming new animated movie from Lucas Arts - in theatres August 2008.

Take a look at the trailer here:

It looks kind of cool but at the same time I'm at least a tad skeptical. It looks like the storyline takes place between Episodes 2 & 3. Apparently that style of animation was what George Lucas wanted, and we'll see what comes out it. I hope it doesn't end up being something that should be on Cartoon Network or Star Wars Lego instead.

Here's a link to an interview with George Lucas regarding the film:

May the force be with this one... they may need it!

After seeing that clip, I'm not too sure about this little project. :( As Han Solo would say, **I have a bad feeling about this...**

My question is this...

What about the previous animated Clone Wars series? Is it being retconned or does this new movie (and thereafter TV series) simply fill in the blanks?

I always thought the last (well, first) 3 Star Wars movies were computer animated too :-)

Hah good point, and probably enough to be considered animated features themselves ;).

Hehe, when I say animated, I mean Cell animation or hand drawn. I usually call that stuff CGI. :)
