BOth shows are good, well, SG certainly is, Atlantis still has to flesh out some of the characters and what not. I mean, theyre only on episode 3, this Friday, so can't expect too much just yet. But I already want to kill that Canadien scientist guy. Not because he's Canadien, but just because he's annoying. Eh.

yeah is is annoying... i loved it when he appeared in SG1. Apparently he is a brainiac and knows everything.... he referred to Carter as a 'dumb blonde'... that part cracked me up. :p

Wife and I never miss an episode. Even on Mondays. Working on the DVD collection.

Sci Fi is doing funky stuff with SG, they keep bragging on about how they have the newest episodes but I know for a fact they are well behind on the plot line(and evidently rewrote or reworked it), as the one on local here has half eliminated Jackson from the plotline(he ascended or whatever and does cameos instead of a regular role) but the "new" Sci Fi episodes still have him as his original self.

Much like Patty and Selma, Shynia has a thing for Macgiver?

Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) wanted to leave the show and then came back after he figured out that no other shows or films wanted him. They had Corin Nemec for a season, and then dumped him to bring Shanks back on. So he's back as his normal self in the new episodes.

I actually watch some of an episode of MacGyver-sp- the other day and i think he looks alot better now. Also, i don't have a thing for MacGyver-sp- i have a thing for O'Neill two totally different characters.

:D

I downloaded the MacGyver TV movie a few weeks ago. It wasn't as good as the old TV show though. :(

I grew up and my folks still live in Colorado Springs(NORAD). They recently announced in the paper that the Airforce authorized a $13m dollar renovation of some of the NORAD complex. I also was listening to Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell one time discussing a possible "travel machine" that Saddam had at one time. HMMMmmm SGC anyone?

What I get for only catching bits and pieces I suppose...then again SG has never really been written well enough to get me watching regularly(sad really, it had potential).

Stargate is by far the best Science Fiction show on TV these days, the writing is second to none.

I cant help thinking that since you haven't watched that many episodes then you have likely missed all of the best episodes and some of the great humour that appears in damn near every show thanks to Jack O'Neill, Teal'c and, Hell, even Daniel Jackson.

Not to mention the show's budget, there's better visual effects in Stargate SG1 than in some of the recent sci-fi movies of the last 5 years!

Possibly, but that doesn't make them have good writing.

The episode plotlines are just regurgitated over and over and over again.

Freed some slaves.

Check.

Someone in SG1(or SG9 or whatever) gets caught and they bust them out.

Check.

The Asgard show up just in the nick of time to save SG1 from some horrible impending doom.

Check.

O'Neil argues with Russians, Russian SG team screws something up and SG1 fixes it.

Check.

I can count on one hand the number of stargate I didnt like. The key to the show for me is O'Neal's humor..... If I were in that situation I would be the same way , except maybe I would replace Carter with a chick who had bigger breasts (Jk)
