Watched it last night. Probably the best political/mystery thriller in a good long while, and Crowe was particularly on form.

However, it was such a mimic of The Pelican Brief that you could have winced at most of the scenes in comparison (and Denzel/Roberts are an infinately superior acting team), especially when the killer is chasing Crowe in a car-park; and what the hell were they thinking in using Ben Affleck? He is terrible, terrible, terrible!

A good watch, some sharp turns, but unfortunately quite anti-climatic at the end.
Personally, the BBC series (on which this is based) is a more rewarding viewing, especially from Yates (of Potter directing fame).

The BBC made a series? I thought this was written about Gary Condit - who knew. When was the BBC series?

The only movies that I can tolerate Ben Affleck in are "Dogma" and "Good Will Hunting", for the obvious reasons of good scripts and casts to offset him. He is dreadful as a main character.

It wasn't too long ago Kel. Watched it when I was at uni, so about four or five years ago? It was set in London, with Bill Nighy and a young James McAvoy. Had about 6 episodes (the average run for one series in the UK, as opposed to the 24 or so episodes in an American series).

Was a cracking show.

Ah, the BBC version was aired in 2003. Chandra Levy disappeared in 2001.

Makes more sense to have it happen in Washington since ... the real story actually happened in Washington. But I suppose you Brits get to have your fun since you gave us The Office :)

I know this will take away any credibility i have towards movies, but i LIKE Ben Affleck, he isnt a GREAT actor but I do not consider him terrible.
