Actually, FD absorbed a lot of it's members.

No a few abandoned SS for FD includeing the leader and then few officers and junk of members merged with Sect of Honor from what i hear.

My sisters husbands cousin has a friend in on another server with an alt in SS, and he says that SS merged with Bixie Company.

SS died because of poor leadership. The guild leader leaves for FD and takes bunch of his buddies with him leaving the rest of the guild high and dry. Ironically this is the same guy who spouted off about guild loyalty and would threaten to fine DKP for not attending raids.
SS deserved to die but the members that were left didnt deserve that kind of treatment. Many of them are very happy
with SOH now.

the guild was dead at that point without some insane reflagging which basically nobody was going to do, and the guild was basically incapable of doing without a whole new recruiting spree which would just be stupid.

lots of people got flags and disbanded, for some reasons im still unclear on... and even after the big group of people disbanded more people were disbanding every day.

carramon ended up leaving after SS was pretty much a lost cause. and at the time carramon ended up disbanding, it was probably in the best interest of everyone in the guild to disband and look elsewhere for a guild. it was a sinking ship even before he left.

if you think him leaving was the cause of the guild falling apart, think again. theres a whole lot more to the story.

I was with SS down to the last 5 or so members before I deguilded. Carramon staying wouldnt have meant shit all. The guild was either going to have to disband and everyone go their seperate ways, or merge with someone else (SOH) regardless of whether or not carramon stayed.

Carramon chose to join a guild that fitted his current planar progression instead of his other options:

stick with SS and initiate yet more mass recruiting and mass backflagging
or
stick with SS and merge into another guild and still end up doing mass backflagging.

carramon staying with SS wouldnt have done a damn thing either way, all it would have ended up doing is trapping him into months of backflagging that he had spent the last few months doing already.

Now, before this even started happening, a lot of the people that got sol ro flagged, left the guild as soon as they got their flags. (Taye comes to mind) It's a real pain in the ass to redo the same raid over and over and over so we can get some random assholes flagged so they can leave.

Carramon made a deal to go to FD with most of the members that wanted to follow him. Sylk made the same deal with SoH. I quit like 3 days before Carramon left the guild, but damn, it doesnt even matter now. If you dont like him, thats fine, Im sure he doesnt give a shit. I know I wouldn't.

BTW- One of the arguements I started in guild was when someone said we were better then FD...Ironic thing is I believe he is guilded in FD now.

The reason SS died mainly was noone would lead anything but me and i had to be off for several days and the guild ripped itself apart over petty things and when i came back the choices that i had were to A. Merge with FD with what remained of my raiders or B. start all over rerecruit and do all the tier 1,2,3 Mobs again and since my job was taking up 90percent of my eq time i did what was best for the people that i could the rest who did not meet requirements joined Soh and thank you again EbonKnight. So now u know and u can stop speculating on what u think happened

Add "Riders of Dragon's Wright" between Sealed Fate and Steel Squadron.

Also, Carramon and the "preferred list" went to FD (IIRC), not SoH.

The Riders of Dragon's Wright had a similar fate under the leadership of Carramon/Pakadar. As of late 2003, the Riders began to be a successful (low Tier 1) raiding guild, then Pakadar (the GL) had some RL issues, turned over leadership to one of the officers, deguilded himself and joined another guild (forget which one). As a result, we had a serious fracture - several people following Pakadar to the new guild, some leaving, some choosing to stick it out. The remaining officers thought it over, and decided to bail. I was quick-picked as an officer, and Palnar became the GL. About a week later, Pakadar comes back - he made a mistake and wants to get Riders going again. He's accepted back as an Officer. Within a couple weeks, he's gone again, with a large number of the remaining guildmembers, leaving messages on the guild boards to "join our new guild" ... Steel Squadron.

Over the next month or so, I'd get occasional tells from one or the other SS member to join, and I declined - simply because I knew it would be only a matter of time before Steel Squadron would fall apart.

In time, I became the GL of the Riders of Dragon's Wright. No, we are by no means uber, and by no means large. But we are still alive and kicking. Recently, we had a short-lived merger with Swift Avengers. That failed for reasons that don't need to be addressed here.

None of the Riders in general, nor I in particular, have any ill feeling to any of the former members of Steel Squadron. I'm frankly sorry to see them collapse - just because I've been through such a period, and it's not a fun time for any of the participants.

I did know of a guild once that took inactive alts and apped them to other guilds to gather information on them.
