Howard Stern announced on his radio show today that he is going to campaign for Kerry. He encourages all his listeners to go to Kerry Web site and give money.

Stern got booted from Clear Channel over some really dumb family values policies that CC instituted after the Janet Jackson fiasco and the FCC threatening to crack down. Because of that, he's campaigning against Bush and the current FCC climate.

The Clear Channel thing was pretty well over-publicized. He's still on more stations than he was removed from, by a long shot IIRC.

Clear Channel didn't fire him over anything political.

politics,i think it might have or at least influenced there decsion.i find it funny, they never said a word about his on air antics before.they couldnt have hired him and all of a sudden watched or listened to his show not knowing what it was all bout, on there own stations.
clear channel is close to the bushes and have been for many years.they seemed fine with him while he supported bush.but is rather strange they do this not long after he started criticizing bush over gay marriages and Iraq.might all be just coincidence, with the janet jackson boob flash.
even still, all this over what some caller said on the phone.

How can people take Stern seriously? I listen occasionally on the drive to work, more for comic relief. His comments are usually very biased, very uneducated, and extremely sexist. Which, while it might make for a funny radio station, people shouldn't be basing any decisions (like presidential voting) off what Stern or any of his crew say.

It scares me when I listen and people call in...and then talk about how great Howard is, or how much they support him, or how he's always, "keeping it real."

He's kind of an jerk too...spends half his time whining about his job, or yelling at the people who work for him, or the last two weeks griping about the Clear Channel thing and how the whole government is out to get him.

Stern doesn't allow his show to be in the 'net. He's afraid he'd lose control.
