This post is NOT about Player Auctions but regular Ebay. WHY o WHY do people bid on something 3 days before it ends? I mean for the love of pete all that does is push the price up.

I do it because some joker that can't go to the store and shop around ends up paying retail or worse from some ambigious source. Makes me smile with sadistic glee.

Then there's the whole matter it gives me something to do during work.

Most of the stuff I buy on ebay is only available by Import that costs $29.99 in the store. Dannii Minogue Neon Nights cost me 11 bucks after shipping but costs $28.99 at Tower and you can forget getting it at someplace like Wal"white trash" mart.

Grats on waving your "Im an Asshole" flag. There are lots of items on ebay that ARENT SOLD HERE. Has nothing to do with "going to the store". Fuck its like talking to kids ... o wait.

why bother with ebay when I can make crap out of thin air to incite rage? you make my day buddy and all I had to do was make up something.

In the several occasions that I've bought something from ebay I either (a) watched it like a hawk with a sniping program at the end, or (b) simply entered a bid of what I wanted to pay for it, entered my cap bid, and just walked away from it.

I bought some old toys that way. I knew what I wanted to pay, but wasn't going to sit around and play the bidding game.

palimax hit it right, never bid more then you want to pay, anything else and you're a retard.

so can we turn this into a nag about stupid people that complain when they get outbid?

You flatter yourself unnecessarily.

Actually my point was not about being outbid. It was about 2 or more people having a bid war back and forth 3 days before the item goes out. Thats like saying "Yes I wanna throw my money out the window". I actually agree with what you are saying and thats what I was bitching about.

Its similair to the guy weaving in and out of traffic to end up next to you at the stop light. Apparently your that guy.

I used to use Ebay back before it was populated by nothing but business types selling warehouses full of repackaged garbage for "ONLY $24.99!!!!!". It has ceased being a deal IMHO. If Im really having a hard time finding something I might take a look there, but I usually end up more angry than if I had just not bothered.

Oh and yeah about the initial post, if I do bid I always wait till the last minute, no matter what Im bidding on :p

Someone made the comment to me today that what good was it to leave negative comments on someone with 10,000+ feedbacks and I have to admit I only bid on people who are like me and just there for a flea market deal type stuff. If you have 41,000 feedbacks I wont touch it.

Im the same way, the problem for me is actually finding the 5 auctions in the ten million that show up in my search that isnt some business thats just too lazy to have a storefront. So its just not worth it for me anymore.

Looking back on it now, I think the thing that stopped me is when I had a problem with a DVD I bought and had to call customer service. I was like.. wtf am I doing??? Customer service? Shoot me, please!
