Let's hear them, who you think will win, by how much, and why?

GO EAGLES!

Patriots 31 ; Eagles 17 - Not a blowout, but a no-doubter

I'd score the Pats by a touchdown. Philly is going to be less able to stop Corey Dillon then the Pats hardcore team defense will be able to defend the Eagles.

Tho I'm a fan of neither team I'll still watch the game. Hell, just bought a new TV for the game. I imagine I'm not the only one to upgrade prior to Superbowl action. heh

No, you're not. I'll go try to find stats somewhere, but the Superbowl ranks right up there with Christmas and tax refunds as "buy a TV day."

AHA!

Super Bowl Impacts Television Sales; Most-Watched TV Event Drives Sales of Big Screens at Best Buy
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- January means lots of playoff football and creates an increase in demand for television sets to watch the "big game." According to the National Electronic Dealers Association, sales of large screen TVs increase five times during Super Bowl week.

I wasn't allowed to upgrade the TV but was allowed to have a party where I could invite several of my friends. For one day I get to rule something in the house.....the living room!!!

I think it will be a close game and I think if the Eagles are going to have any chance at all the defense is going to have to stop the running game. As much as I want the Eagles to win I think it's too close to call and a Field Goal or less will decide the game.

21-24 (hopefully favoring the Eagles)

Oh, and she gets to decide what decisions are big and what decisions are little.

Saying that United would win the premiership isn't a prediction, it's a given.

I hate the Pats. That said, I think they will easily deal with the Eagles. TO is going to be back, wow. I wonder how many series it will take before they drop single coverage on him because his gimp ass can barely run.

28-17 Patriots

I haven't splurged on a new TV (yet, hopefully I can keep myself from browsing the stores between now and the Superbowl) but a friend of mine got one that takes up half his living room so I'll probably watch the game there.

Ah, but in American football, you do kick the ball with your foot!

....occasionally..

I want the Eagles to win, but still give the patriots a 64.327% chance to win the game.

Commercials will beat the game.

Though I wish the Eagles would win, I highly doubt it. Patriots have an overall better team from what I've seen, and even with TO back he's not even supposed to be on the field. Someone will knock him over and then he'll be benched again. Also, Brady >McNabb in my opinion. Much better at using all his offense.

I'm calling the patriots by at least one touchdown, but it won't be until near the end of the game.

Bylimet, superbowl commercials rock :p

Brady: 4TD passes, 0 INT 300 yards
Branch: 1 TD, 150 yards
Givens: 1 TD, 100 yards
Vrable: 1 TD

another boring super bowl (much like recent monday night football games!!!), where we will wait for the commercials to come on to see if anyone actually made a good one, and every now and then we will be suprised, i doubt i'll even watch it, scooby doo seems more entertaining at this point

The fact is, just like you could care less about American Football, most of the US could give two shits about Soccer.

Back on topic:

commercials, beer, hard licks, chicks, and no whiney brits on the field! I can't wait till Sunday.

Besides. You dont really want the US to ever start caring about the sport. There has to be one sport we dont totally dominate

The "wisdom" for the day is that the Pats are under some pressure for failure to "domainate" in their previous Super Bowls, only winning by field goals. IF the Pats take an early lead, expect them to try to stretch that lead out with some agressive go-for-the-endzone sort of plays.

The spread is still only 7.5 or so, but not many people think the Eagles can do it.

I'm in favor of having a "dynasty" out there. Let the Pats win a couple :)

I predict TO will re-break his leg in the first quarter permanently hobbling himself and thereby sparing america from ever having to hear his whiney pathetic arrogant self obsessed ass again.
Also in a moment of brilliant clarity and vision Mike Tice will bludgeon Randy Moss to death with a cell phone thereby assuring his place in the hall of fame.

Oh. Eagles 27-24 but then again i'm a Seahawks fan so what the hell do i know.

Halftime and it's 7-7. Booth commentary seemed to suggest Eagles "dominance" right before the Pats got their act together and just marched down the field.

BOTH teams first halves are strictly the results of a pile of errors, penalties, and mistakes on both sides. Whatever team comes out of halftime with their heads screwed on straight wins this one.

Oh, and McCartney should have a penis-revealing wardrobe manfunction any second now.

What sort of idiots took the Eagles without 7 and a half?

Eagles covered.

DiscW
02-07-2005, 12:36 AM
Eagles lost the game for themselves, good game though. TO did amazing considering he was in surgery like 6ish weeks ago. He had 110 yards? My only problem with him is that reporters waste far too much of our time reporting on moronic things like his celebrations(seriously, who cares?) when they should be talking about the actual sport.

I must say though, that was the first time that I actually was able to watch the entire half time show without changing the channel in a long time. He may not be near what he was, but Paul is still a god compared to the drivel they usually put on.

The half time show this year was a lot better than it has been in a while. I was sad when it ended :( Paul rocks!

02-07-2005, 06:26 PM
bummer for the Eagles :(

It certainly wasn't the "blow out" so many predicted, it was a good game and was close. I think when the Eagles came on the field after that shitty onside kick they had already given up...too rushed and disorganized /sigh there is always next year.

I thought the MC Hammer commercials were funny, the rest sucked and certainly didn't hold up to previous years.

Palimax Sceleris
02-07-2005, 07:45 PM
Yeah, that was some piss-poor fourth-quarter clock management. Before AND after the onside attempt. If they hadn't screwed up the clock management BEFORE the onside, they might have just been able to go for field position and try to force a three-and-out.

Obviously they needed their time-outs, but they should have been rushing back to the line of scrimmage EVERY play, calling two or more plays in the huddle, etc... ...a piss poor hurry-up offense.

The Bud Light commerical towards the beginning with the pilot rushing out of the plane was the best one of the night in my opinion
