Anyone think the first expansion to come out for Star Wars Galaxies will maybe make the game worth playing finally?

Played it....didn't really like it. Neat in concept, but it's REALLY slow, expecially for those expecting X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter speed.

Granted the graphics are incredible, but other then flying houses and lack lustre combat (not to mention HORRIBLE AI) it's not worth the money and will probably kill the game.

I can say with certainty that SWG is the ONLY MMORPG I will never... ever play again.

Having a rule prohibiting large gatherings? Wha??? MMORPG is now just MORPG for SWG. I swear sometimes the SWG devs are just taking it out on the player base for creating that dang game, and the people starting too reject it.

The simple fact of the matter is until I can swing around a lightsaber and have hot virtual sex with three Jedi chicks at once, no game will ever top KOTOR.

Actually, you can Zehn...

Provided of course you want to do the grind. Becoming a Jedi is quest based now. Once you manage to spawn the NPC that starts you, they've worked it out to about 11 million exp to just become a Padawan. From that point on you have to grind out your abilities further, but upon becoming a Padawan you now show up on Bounty Hunter terminals. Meaning? A whole WORLD of frustration. Everytime a Bounty Hunter Incapacitates you, you lose 30k exp. Everytime you are forced to clone, you lose 200k exp. Losing 200k exp is like losing about 4 to 5 hours of grinding, and that's in the good spots.

Now, on the up side, once you've managed to get to knight or even guardian, there's little out there that can touch you one on one. Unfortunately I've seen Bounty Hunter Gank Squads that have numbered as high as 26 people.

As far as the hot cyber goes, they actually have lusty emotes LOL. Twilek chicks aren't that bad looking......cept for the tentacles hanging out the back of their heads :p

I am in the SWG JTL beta and the first few days were pretty slow flight wist and the AI was horrible...but it is a BETA so they are fixing those items...even if JTL is great the ground game is so screwed up I don't know if it is worth playing. I login just to help a friend grind jedi now...that is about it.

there is NO balance in the ground game what so ever. melee rules and ranged sucks...kinda ironic that it is called star wars yet a monk/fencer are the toughest classes in the game.

If you are a ranged class and fight a jedi you can hit them once every 30 shots...if you are a Teras Kasi you can beat up the jedi fast and make him run.

buffs/armor/buff food/spice (another buff) = solo pretty much ANY NPC in the game except a couple dungeons that are so out of whack that it is not funny.

After Jump to Lightspeed ships they say they will fix the ground game...then and only then will SWG be worth playing.

I left EQ to play SWG and I have/had three accounts. I am down to one SWG account and I will keep it and I am thinking of getting one EQ2 account to see how it is...

Actually, just got news that Lucas is PISSED at SOE for the crap they put out as SWG.

Apparently he's using his heavy return spring and is finalizing the legal paperwork to yank SWG out of Sony's fingertips. Then he wants to create the game to fit his vision of Star Wars.

If this does happen, it should be interesting to see. :)

lucas has no credability for making anything good anymore, i doubt he will make anything interesting, not to mention he got to see the finished product and decided to release it as such

Actually, the rumor of LA taking over the game is just that - a badly perpetuated rumor. Smed has already said as much. The job description everyone is so up in arms over points at handling the game's release in (Japan?). At least at present.

Ya'll are pretty quick to violate the NDA...and the purpose of an agreement is just this - so you don't put down a game that's still in development, especially since they haven't finalized anything yet. You can't say the expansion is terrible...you have no idea what the final product will actually be.

It is impossible for Lucas to take SWG from Sony because of "sign offs", a term basically used in any business such as this where at every step of the process they get a signature on a piece of paper saying everything is ok and to keep going, or everything is ok but ___ and fix that, come back and get another signature. He or someone representing his company signed off so many times on the project that there isn't any going back to that point.
